Origin (Toronto)

Erin and I went to Origin for dinner last weekend. The place is really cool- incredible design, interesting art and funky feel. The food also lived up to the room. Modern tapas style, but not necessarily Spanish. Small plates, raw bar, mozzarella bar, some asian inspired dishes and some interesting molecular gastronomy infused plates.

Some places that try to do too much and be everything to everyone end up falling flat all around. Not the case here. The menu was varied, but not huge. Every dish we tried was great and I've heard similarly positive reviews from other friends who have gone as well.

The dishes are meant to be shared so you can go light and not break the bank or go big and drop some money. I recommend checking this place out if you are in the neighborhood (King St East- not far from Yonge St).
