DevO
Howdy! Anyone out there familiar with a band called OX? I'm going to see them tonight at Mitzi's Sister with a friend who digs them or is friends with them (or both). Looking forward to my first visit to this old Queen St W bar, and the show is looking pretty interesting too:Ox takes its annual ‘Oxmas’ show on the road for the first time- to celebrate the release of their ‘Silent Night & Other Cowboy Songs’. Expect a festive event like no other for the holidays- eclectic performances of traditional and oddball carols, fresh baked vegan cupcakes, elves, Oxnog, and maybe even a visit from Santox himself! Ox will be joined at selected shows by special local guests to include, Dave MacKinnon (the FemBots), Nathan Lawr (The Minotaurs), Tim Vesely (Violet Archers, Rheostatics), Jenny Omnichord and many others. Never before celebrated outside of their native Sudbury- this show will forever change how you think of Christmas! The perfect event to bring that significant other along with you for.and get drunk. DevO
I only caught the last 30 minutes of so of the set. All Christmas tunes, sounded good, pretty funny. The guy from the Fembots was with them; I think the description above includes expected guests for the whole Oxmas tour (also Guelph, Sudbury, 1 other town).
