Featuring veterans of Toronto’s underground funk scene, The Soul Motivators dig deep into their influences, bringing you a fresh revival of a vintage sound. This is a 9-piece rare groove explosion with a hip-hop flair - they will motivate you straight to the dance floor!

Recent recordings of the band have been receiving regular airplay on Toronto’s CBC Radio 1, CBC Radio 2 and CIUT FM. Their original track ‘Until the Sun Goes Down’ was recently selected as the song of the week on the CBC Radio 1 show ‘Here and Now’.

Garnering attention for their energetic live show, The Soul Motivators have performed at some of Toronto’s finest venues including The Great Hall, The Rivoli, Lee’s Palace and The Opera House – where they recently played to a packed house opening for Lee Fields & The Expressions. A busy summer schedule included appearances at The TD Jazz Festival, NXNE and the Beaches International Jazz Festival. These days they continue to keep things on lock down with a monthly residency at the legendary Orbit Room in Toronto’s Little Italy.

With new recordings on the way and dates across Ontario lined-up, this band likes to keep it real, keep it right and keep it tight.

Will do. Made it to Homegrown for Diesel Dog and really enjoyed the place and the local brews. Living in Waterloo now so a little tougher to make it to the Hammer shows but I'll be back!
