Palms
While my Closing of Winterland DVD still has yet to arrive even though it was pre-ordered and it shipped (!), I just wanted to say that the new allmans live DVD filmed at the Beacon in NYC is pretty sweet. Since it's so close to Christmas, I've been reviewing lots of DVDs and that is my most recent favourite. Some nice jams between Warren and Derek Trucks, good song selection and a wicked 'Dreams' which is a highlight for me. It was a real pleasure for sure to get a review copy of this one, especially compared to some of the music DVDs I've had to endure recently (like Triumph, sammy Hagar, Dio, etc). With any luck the Allmans review will be printed this week in Hamilton's VIEW. There's some other jam-friendly stuff set for print sometime soon too - Bonnaroo CD set, Vida Blue, A Head's Tale DVD. Deisel Dog CD, etc. etc.
Jaimoe
I'm all over this DVD, but I think I'm getting it for Christmas. I have their last DVD release, the uneven: Live @ The Great Woods ( 1992 ). I'm really excited that Live @ The Beacon is in DTS audio.
Guest Low Roller
I chose Closing of Winterland over the ABB DVD, but they were both available at the MusicWorld in Billings Bridge (If you live in Ottawa).
