Guest
I've been trying to get Direct Connect going and I'm having problems.. Can anyone help? This is what I get when I try to connect: Connecting To shnapster.dyndns.org :411 Disconnected From Hub Same thing happens for jamhub.dyndns.org - I am using Windows XP - I have it set in Passive Mode - I checked the DC FAQ, to no avail. Any advice? Thanks eh.
SolarGarlic
Sup Kev, First off, go here and download DC++, its an open source program for direct connect. The folks over at neomodus have ads on their direct connect software which is against most bands trading policies. http://unc.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-0.176.zip Are you behind a firewall?? shainhouse
It has something to do with Windows XP. I know that's what's screwing you up.
Guest
Yeah, I think XP creates some kind of firewall type thing..? I'll download DC++ today after work and get back to you.
Guest Low Roller
I believe that shnapster has a minimum requirement for files shared. I think it's 5 GB. I use XP and I have no problems. Connect to Jamhub (where there is no minimum) and build your collection until you have enough to share on Shnapster.
MattyC
Also, check the properties of your Local Area Connection in the control panel.. I believe in XP there is an advanced tab with an option to take the firewall off. Hope this helps. Cheers..
bouche
Also...don't forget that if you use Symcrapico, they are capping your downloads at 5 gigs! How many shows is that? I've read that Roger's is soon to follow too. It's a real sucky situation.
Guest
Thanks all -- I got it working. =) I had to check the properties of my ISP (Broadband) and then uncheck the firewall option. Seems to be working now. First off, I'm looking for that Strokin The Grits funk mix! Boo-urns to download capping... Click here and sign the petition against it!
