badams
Jason Allison will be making his long-awaited NHL comeback with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team signed the unrestricted free agent centre to a one-year deal on Friday.
Jaimoe
Well, Allison went through tons of medical tests, a week's worth. I guess that means he's fit to play. When healthy, he was a Team Canada candidate. I like his game. I like him back in the league, no matter what team he plays for.

Jaimoe
So what? He's always put up points and is tough behind the net and in the corners.
Booche
Dave.Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave..............How tough is 'whiplash' boy really going to be?His career is on the short stick. They might as well as signed Troy Aikman. At the same time, this is about the only move the Laughs can make right now. That is how pathetic things are for them. Jaimoe
He'll be worth it if, and that's a big if, he doesn't get hurt. 1.5 mil? No big loss, especially for a team that's tapped-out cap-wise. Look for a trade to shore up some cap room. Edited August 6, 2005 by Guest
Booche
"Look for a trade to shore up some cap room."OR, they can trade more draft picks away for veterans on the tail end of their career. How many picks did they have in the top 181 this past draft?2 perhaps?
Jaimoe
They should fire their scouts too. The Leafs always draft terribly, at least in the first two rounds.
dave-O
I actually rather like Jason Allison. He has next to no skill (at a major league level, that is). All he does is set up goals like a mofo. He is bizarre to watch live, he does NOTHING but put the puck on the right guy's stick. But who the hell is he going to set up on that Leafs line up? Jaimoe
I don't know about not having skill. He's got great hands and vision on the ice. He always puts up good numbers when healthy, but he's not a goal-scorer that's for sure.I think he'll play with O'Neill.

badams
Allison scored 33 goals in 97/98 and 36 goals in 00/01.From 01/02 to 03/04 he scored 25. He's a huge risk.Basically the Leafs have replaced Roberts and Nieuwendyk with Allison and Oneil. This does not make them better.Poor, poor Leaf fans.I love Domi but he is over paid. It's gonna be a long year in Toronto.

It really is remarkable how much he does (did?) with how little. Obviously what I was getting at is he has great vision.
