Guest Low Roller
Well Brett Hull has called it a career. He will leave the NHL as the 3rd all-time highest scorer. This leaves Wayne Gretzky in quite the pit that may take a while to recover from. On the flipside it opens up the budget for Carolina to trade for another disgruntled NHLer in the mold of Hull.In other news Steve Yzerman injured his groin, one game after coming back from a prolonged injury. No doubt his heart is still in the game, but his body cannot cope with the physical toll. Surely all the signs are pointing towards his retirement. Yeah, Hull's nine minutes per game was making a huge difference in Phoenix....Glad he retired, although I've heard speculation that he was talked into it, considering it would be pretty embarrassing for him to be sent down to the minors.AD

dave-O
What does Carolina have to do with Hull and Gretz?? Phoenix has a decent young core of players, Hull didn't really fit in with the youth and speed movement.Kudos to Brett for admitting that the body couldn't do what the mind wanted. He could have easily held on and made millions for a couple more years.

Jaimoe
Yzerman got a groin injury that is common for players that haven't played in a while - an injury he would have gotten in pre-season... if he'd played. He'll get over this and play-out his last season in style.
