I make this stuff so frequently I can give you a recipe of the top of my head!

3.5 pound pork shoulder roast

2 large onions

3 cloves garlic

1 small can tomato paste

14 oz. can crushed tomatoes

a few shakes of a bottle of hot sauce

paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, thyme, salt and pepper to taste.

spice up your meat and brown it in bacon grease or olive oil in a frying pan.

cut up your onions and garlic, place in the bottom of the slow cooker.

throw your browned meat on top, and smother with the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, hot sauce, and more spices

cook it on low for 6-8 hours.

Of course, you can't go wrong with simply using a commercially available BBQ sauce. Worcestershire sauce is a nice touch too.

Thanks! I did a pulled pork once before and it worked out wonderfully, but I can't remember what recipe I used for the life of me.

Do you rub the pork shoulder with the spices (paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, thyme, salt and pepper to taste) before browning?

I am going to steal some elements of this Hamilton Spectator recipe as well. My only concern with it is the small amount of liquid they've included. I guess there is the jar of chili sauce. I'll do a combo of that and crushed tomatoes maybe.

Now to find a good slaw..

My 3.5 pounder has been slow cookin since 8:30am this morning. Can't wait to get home and check it out. It's gonna be zesty!! I did a combo of the Spectator recipe and yours FBN.

Here's the slaw I've got going on:

But (ironically?) I added some mayo to it.

Fluff - no way! Well if you're thinking along the same lines as me, this is gonna be a great St. Patty's Day party favour for all those late afternoon drunks.
