  1. It is a little odd. That appeared a couple of weeks ago. When I first saw it, I gave it a try, just to see if it wasn't somebody just looking to stir up a little shit with photoshop. When I did it, it was just as described. Now, supposedly, they have changed some of this: http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showpost.php?post/629071/ I just tried "Jesus is" for fun. Turns out that the smart search only has nice things to suggest for you!
  2. That's sick (in a bad way!) So utterly blatant is the intent to injure on that play that Cormier should be suspended and/or ejected from hockey for good. How can they make such heinous plays be penalized more? Player suspension/explusion, yes. What about a team penalty of some sort too? Something that would cause even more harm to the offending player's team than simply being short handed? Somehow instilling that your actions are not simply about yourself but your entire team and fanbase too. On a somewhat similar note. I was at the St Mike's Majors game yesterday (my boy and his team had a 50min game prior to the OHL boys coming on the ice ). During the Majors' game there was a penalty called that I had never seen the ref's signal for before. "Head Check". Seems it was introduced about 8 years ago in the OHL. The video you linked to obviously is not just a head check, but much much more. Ugly.

  6. Cool, eh? As for the song? Well, i'm glad it's still used for hockey broadcasts. In terms of the Corpse? Well, i'm glad they didn't fork over the blackmail amount of over $3million for the continued rights for it. We've all survived HNIC without it right? Did i hear that drum kit is now going into the hall of fame? Peart rocks!

Thanks AD. I'm happy to hear that it is already there. The news coverage tonight (on CBC) was so sad. It truly is a catastrophe of epic proportions. I hope they can get the relief out fast. The reports make it look like they are already nearing riotous behaviour for food and water. Gangs with machetes walking around as well. They are worried air drops of supplies could start mob riots!

Hey, where's Canada's wonderful water purification team? What was that system called that was always supposed to be on standby ready to go out to things like this? Is it?

Much like the Tsunami disasters from a few years ago, the carnage is very difficult to comprehend. Truly tragic.

You know what would be really nice? To see all the mobile carriers donate the SMS fees they're getting from each donation to the charities as well. Same goes for the credit card companies/banks making a mint off of the donations as well. I'll be submitting a Red Cross and Drs Without Borders donations this weekend. I'll be giving blood on Monday (not that it's going to Haiti, but it's just a good thing to do ) Unbelievable images from only 48hrs after: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/01/haiti_48_hours_later.html

  18. Cheech & Chong want to blaze with Palin http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/15/cheech-chong-palin_n_424563.html Politico caught up with Cheech and Chong at the Marijuana Policy Project's 15th Anniversary Gala and asked the duo which politician they'd most like to smoke pot with. Sarah Palin they answered. Why? Apparently, Cheech Marin thinks she grows it herself back in Alaska, while Tommy Chong noted that she "answers a lot of questions like a stoner." The pair went on to discuss her recent debut as a Fox News Analyst and her history in pageants.
