  1. NHL Stanley Cup Finals Playoffs this SUNDAY?!?! The time that it's on (afternoon or evening) is all dependent upon the outcome of the NBA game tonight!!! It'll be less than 48hrs before gametime when the teams involved and hockey fans will know when Game 2 will air. Yup, NBC will be ready to put the NHL playoffs up against the NBA playoffs ... sure!
  2. Dontcha wish you had neighbours like this??? They may need a license to own that handgun, but they sure don't to have a kid. Responsible handgun ownership, yup. Beware
  3. We just gotta educate them kiddies like this professional did: Then they can live long and shoot like this later in life: Shoot 'em in the toodles!!
  4. Berlusconi quoted about his 18-year-old mistress http://www.time.com/time/quotes/0,26174,1901698,00.html
  5. That may be true. How's their domestic abuse rates? I'm sure they have higher accidental handgun injuries/deaths than in counties that don't have handguns The argument for giving everybody a handgun to make communities safer is like saying every country should have a nuclear warhead to make the world a safer place.
  6. Be reasonable, not drastic Yes, they are always looking for more money to earn. Additional streams of cash will allow the League to continue to support the failing franchises that are failing at increasing the fan base that provides for the added streams of cash. When they do get more money, the salaries all go up with it. Where/when does the net gain kick-in? Along the way the ticket prices will continue to rise and alienate even more fans (especially when they look to gouge viewers yet again to see the games on the TV channels they get their contract with). Trim some fat, improve product/talent, better game on average, more fan enjoyment = open wallets. I understand where you're coming from, and that this most likely won't happen anytime soon, I just think it would be a healthier way to keep the game at the level it should be.
  7. "I think I lost my penis!" Men vs. Wild with Will Ferrell - watch more funny videos
  8. Yup, tell yer doc that you're CURED!
  9. OK, so I fully admit that I went off half-cocked there and upon reflection (and research) what I spouted was not completely correct. Mea culpa. I hang my head in shame and will take my 2 mins in the penalty box. I got suckered absorbing misinformation from elsewhere. You'd think I worked for FOX News or something Here are some numbers as reported by ESPN (although they just don't seem to reflect what is heard elsewhere in many cases). Dude, great call. That's exactly how I feel.
  10. Yes, I agree, it does depend. However, what I still don't get is why have a handgun in the house in the first place? If it is there for "protection" then how is it going to be useful when you NEED to protect yourself and the gun is locked away and the ammunition is in another part of the house locked away? If the handgun is for "sport" then keep it locked up at the gun club. One would assume that regulations at a gun club would make it the safest place to keep it. Anyone who has kids, or was one , knows that things that are deemed "off-limits" are VERY tempting. Accidents happen. But also, accidents can be avoided.
  11. right-click and view this full size.
  12. Money and shopping carts are gross. A lot of other things are too (handles, railings, public transit, keyboards, etc.) Go to a fast food joint and watch people touch money, indoor playground, and then lick their fingers after eating their fries!! Just don't let it become a phobia like this dude:
  13. I got my Dariens and SPACs at least a couple of weeks ago. (purchased through LiveNation)
  14. Just saw my big boss this morning (Scott Moore). Super nice guy. I asked him wtf was up with still not knowing the time of the Sunday game. He said he understood and that he gave it to Gary (yup, that little weasel Gary). Bettman/NHL/US TV = fuuuuuuck! When are they going to realize it ain't gonna work. The only way they'll get a lucrative US network deal is to REDUCE the number of Canadian franchises. The Canadian teams are the worst draw in the States (especially Ottawa) and that would be deadly for TV viewership. Wonder why they can't stand Balsillie buzzing around the NHL? When will the NHL realize that it'll never be the NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, PGA, etc. in the US?
  15. We're waiting here for fucking NBC to tell us when Game 2 will be on Sunday. Fuuuuuuuck. So, NBC is deciding what's most important ... a bicycle race, a French Open match, or the GODDAM STANLEY CUP FINAL! Ugh. I know it, we're going to end up with a damn 3pm game on a kickass sunny day.
  16. i don't know when he taped the interview, but I would have liked to have been there (it's on the same floor that I work on )
  17. Pens all the way. Pens get at least one game winning goal while Grandpa Chelios is in the box for a stupid penalty
  18. And that's better than being insane WITH a gun? I still don't get how having a gun in your possession truly makes you any safer than without. I know there are cases where people truly have defended themselves, but at what ratio to incidents where it simply incited more violence that otherwise may not have occurred?
  19. Yeah' date=' but how are Canadians going to feel righteous indignation over that?[/quote'] Watch it! I may have to threaten you with my pool. It protects me and my family you know!
  20. Steve Earle is on The Hour tonight; http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/
  21. [color:purple]Come on, as long as you take a safety course all will be OK!?!? http://www.azstarnet.com/metro/293333.php Tucson Region Law and Order Phoenix man killed in gun-safety demo Arizona Daily Star Tucson, Arizona | Published: 05.18.2009 A 26-year-old Phoenix man accidentally killed himself early Sunday while explaining gun safety to two Sierra Vista residents. Samuel Benally Jr. was at an apartment on West Tacoma Street when he said guns should be kept unloaded because people could point them at their heads, said Sierra Vista police Sgt. Brett Mitchell. Benally then demonstrated by putting his own 9mm Ruger, which he believed to be unloaded, to his head and firing it, Mitchell said. Benally was flown to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Mitchell said. An investigation is ongoing, but police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved, Mitchell said.
