  1. Happy Halloween ... oops, whatever ... BOO! Hope that didn't scare you too much
  2. Do you know if that's only for the receiver that you mention, or all Bell receivers? They've had those USB ports for ages, yet they have never been activated. I've got an old 5900 PVR, yet would love the USB to work for easily playing content on a flash drive
  3. Dates are up! Back to July 4th weekend ... nice
  4. http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/01/15/barack-obama-selects-the-dead-for-inauguration-ball-it-was-quite-an-honor/
  5. There ARE rooms available at the Adams Mark, just not Priceline ones. You can get a standard roome for $89 through the AdamsMark website; http://www.adamsmark.com/adamsmark/index.html It used to be that you'd only get the Hyatt or the Adams Mark as a 3* selection in Buffalo.
  6. Ha! I was at that gig too. Lots of room to groove. We got there and ran inside from the car to stay warm. I remember seeing Sleeping Monkey for the first time at that show and laughing pretty damn hard.
  7. Lebanese Blonde performed on ACL: http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/flash/video/player2/index.php?xml=/klru/austin/images/stories/ACL/Episodes/2000s/2008/gnarls_thievery/video/3408_thievery_song.xml
  8. Wonder how many Cordoba's with fine Corinthian leather are still on the road.
  9. My buddy just did priceline and didn't end up with a room at the Adam's Mark There's a new "3*" hotel that PriceLine now books and it's the Holiday Inn and it's much further away from the HSBC than the Adams Mark, Hyatt, or Comfort Suites. Hoping for a WARM April in Buffalo
  10. Win FREE FRONT ROW tix: http://www.nowtoronto.com/cgi-bin/EH/EventHandler.cgi?Actn=Entry_Form&Fnm=event12&User_ID=contests Somebody's gotta win ... good luck
  11. http://jambands.ca/sanctuary/showpost.php?post/574938/ I called Music Today this afternoon and the girl, who was really polite, said that only 10% of the tickets went onsale today. The rest would be next Friday and plenty of floor seats should be available.
  12. Mom just emailed this over to me http://www.huffingtonpost.com/neil-young/fork-in-the-road_b_157698.html Neil Young - Fork In The Road Lyrics to "Fork in the Road"

Got a pot belly.
It's not too big.
Gets in my way
when I'm driving my rig.
 Driving this country
 in a big old rig,
things I see
 mean a lot.

 My friend has a pickup.
 Drives his kid to school.
 Then he takes his wife
to beauty school.

 Now she's doin' nails.
 Gonna get a job.
 Got a good teacher.
There's a fork in the road ahead.
I don't know which way I'm gonna turn.
There's a fork in the road ahead. Forgot this year,
to salute the troops.
They're all still there
in a fucking war. It's no good.
 Whose idea was that?

 I've got hope,
 but you can't eat hope.
I'm not done.
Not giving up.
Not cashing in.
Too late. There's a bailout coming but it's not for me.
It's for all those creeps watching tickers on TV.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for me. I'm a big rock star.
 My sales have tanked,
 but I still got you.
 Thanks!
 Download this.
 Sounds like shit.

Keep on bloggin' 'til the power goes out,
and your battery's dead. Twist and Shout.
On the radio.
 Those were the days.
Bring 'em back. There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
Bailout coming but it's not for you. Got my new flat-screen.
 Got it repo'd now.
They picked it up.
Left a hole in the wall.
 Last Saturday.
Missed the Raiders game. There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do.
  13. I find this to be a very interesting thread these days. For a situation that is ultimately complex, layered, ancient and seemingly unresolvable, the information that is presented here is valuable. Very easily this could turn into a shouting match or blame-game based on the topic. There seem to be a lot of reasonable questions and answers going both ways and the extra knowledge can only lead to a somewhat better understanding for all. I saw a response to that editorial in the G&M that you posted Al.
  14. For $100 you can get a room at the party hotel and a ticket the day of the show and still probably have some extra $ leftover. In the meantime, i'll see ya at the Thievery Corp show next month right?
  15. E.T. loves Elliot Ollie loves Elliotte Friedman??
  16. in 'spirit' yes. (spiritual convenience fees added to ticket prices ) Also, I'm sure there will be a number of people with the name "Jerry" in attendance
  17. Little Party? It's gonna be big. That place will be teeming with Heads
  18. Just used that example because for 'some' people this could be considered an equivalent event and they'll get every penny's worth out of their money spent on this event. I can't comprehend how people found seeing Striesand in an arena as "magical" either, but who am i to say what floats their boat? Just sayin'
