  1. LOL ... that's why I really didn't like going to MLG when I was a kid. I had been to many games at The Forum, where the crowd was vocal and energetic. At MLG the only time there was noise was when there was a goal or a fight.
  2. Fun game last night. Much more enjoyable to watch. Lots of action and some HOT goaltending by Raycroft (for a change ).
  3. Exellent!!! Marking it on the calendar right now

  5. Best bunch of TUBES out there!
  6. Too much of anything is just enough ... It's all about balance ...
  7. It's amazing that fatal accidents haven't occurred more frequently on many of the 'reality' shows (Fear Factor, Survivor, Most Extreme Elimination Challenge )
  8. Awesome! I can't wait to hear these shows. I just d/l'd some live Neil from the BBC 1971
  9. Episode 6 will be rebroadcast. So while you missed it, you can see it again on Newsworld: Thursday, January 18 @ 10pm Firday, January 19th @ 1am Later . . . Kanada Kev =8)
  10. Easier to see your teammates on the ice. More contrast between the dark jersey and the white ice and boards. That'd be my take on it
  11. Dude, I was at the Odeon show in Cleveland in '95. What a show! I remember spilling out on to the street after and STEAM was pouring off of everyone because it had been so hot and fun inside! 12. Hey, don't know if anyone here is a fan of live Hip, but I just saw some new dates announced. Anyone who has seen the Hip in a small venue knows that's where they are the best. I've been fortunate and seen them that way a number of times going back to '89. They are doing a US tour after they wrap up the Canadian on in Toronto next month (anyone else going to Copps Coliseum? I'll be there). Anyhow, they are doing 2 nights at the great Town Ballroom in Buffalo. Tix on sale this Friday. 13. Really? I know that some don't like him as an actor (or for his actions outside of Hollywood), but I've really enjoyed his acting in a number of movies other than FTARH Mystic River, The Thin Red Line, Sweet and Lowdown, Deadman Walking, Carlito's Way (afro and all) ... OK it's not a TON of movies, but some pretty good ones and not all the same character.
  14. Yup, that's when my PVR recording ended... Man did that show run long. I don't know how people can sit through it live (unless you're drinking HEAVILY). Forrest has been around a while now too. Good to see him getting the recognition. Did you know he was in Fast Times at Ridgemount High?? Gotta watch that one again and see if i can spot him. http://www.movieactors.com/freeseframes-1026/FastTimes12.jpeg
  15. I despise awards shows (unless you've got a pool/betting going on). They are so friggin' boring. The one good thing about the Golden Globes is that these chumps are sitting there bored too, but they have drinks as well. Usually makes for some interesting "speeches" . I skipped through it really quickly after PVR'ing it. Cohen's acceptance speech was funny. Never heard one like that before. You could hear that some in the crowd were shocked ... GOOD! Then lots of them busted out laughing and loosened up. Robert Redford babbled on and on like he had hit the sauce pretty good. Hugh Laurie, who plays the lead on "House," had a really entertaining acceptance too. Being that it's the "Hollywood Foreign Press" voting on these, there seemed to be a high percentage of non-American actors winning Don't know if that is coincidence or not.
  16. It's true, players do look a little smaller. What I found weird to watch during the Olympics was the change from horizontal stripes on the socks to vertical ones. For some reason it makes the player look really different.
  17. They were weren't they? My little girl, Cassidy, has a pair of those. She wore them the other day. Won't be long before they don't fit. Two-year-olds grow up fast somehow. Later . . . Kanada Kev =8)
  18. This one is a beauty ... sorry i couldn't get a shot of the entire jersey with the blue and orange wavy stripes all around it EAT YOUR FISHTICKS, BILLY!!! OR I'LL HIT YOU WITH THIS HERE STICK!!! ARRRRRR!
  19. They are the same "style" jerseys that were worn at the World Juniors and the Torino Olympics. They are a little more "form fitting" as to reduce drag and increase aerodynamics. They are a "stretchier" material too. I've got one, but I haven't worn it to play hockey in yet (not that I'd even notice a difference at my level anyhow ). http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2680102 and here: NHL to Unveil New Uniforms in January, 2007 (National Hockey League) November 30, 2006 The NHL will have a new look next season. The league is set to unveil new uniforms at a news conference in mid-January. The streamlined uniforms, designed by Reebok, will be worn by players at the Jan. 24 all-star game in Dallas. All players will wear the new uniforms starting next season. They feature increased flexibility and are less bulky than what players have traditionally worn for years. +++++++ There's actually an online petition against these! Doesn't sound like they are like the old Cooperalls or anyhing! http://www.petitiononline.com/nhl66/petition.html
  20. Branson probably sees the writing on the wall. Good for him for getting off the sinking ship that is the major-heavy industry model that you mention. Later . . . Kanada Kev =8)
  21. One more post on this subject just for a few laughs (or hurls): http://thesuperficial.com/2007/01/steven_tyler_is_the_missing_li.html Discuss
  22. That's not a "my bad". That should be a "my good". I totally feel that this is a relevant forum for threads that are religious in their subject matter. Can I hear a Hellelujah? !
  23. Could you imagine if countries changed the design of their flags as often as many NHL teams? There should be some consistency, as it helps to build up the fans' loyalty and recognition of a consistent image/logo. I remember when it seemed that all the professional sports teams were adopting a "black" jersey. With the popularity of the Raider's merchandise in the late 80s/early 90s tons of teams made the switch. LA Kings seemed to be a drastic change, but you got used to it (their 3rd jersey is a laugh) then the Sabres did it. Following that, teams just used black is the dominant colour instead of a dark colour that was part of their logo. It'll be interesting to see the overall "look" of the game next season with the new jerseys being implimented league-wide.
