I just got an email from Bonarroo stating that the 1st batch of artists and ticket info will be announced Wednesday Jan 19.

Those were great. Hey Stapes, maybe we could start a petition or something and try to bring them back......

Yeah, I was gonna add to my last post that I always assumed Bobby plays those tunes because people ask him to play them. And hell, he may very well love those songs as much as all of us on the board.

In the first couple years after Jerry died, Bobby was hesitant to play the Jerry songs, and did so very seldom. I think of it as a tribute to Jerry everytime I hear him do one now though. And why not, he played many of those songs for 30 plus years...and the Dead did lotsa cover songs that none of them wrote which are famous because they did them the way they did.

Just my opinion.

I believe that there can be no true "hate" without real love behind it. And that the Bobby hater's on this board really do love him....maybe they're mad because there's no rescheduled Toronto Ratdog date yet. Maybe they resent him because he's not playing with Jerry these days. Maybe he played Easy to Slip, when they really wanted to hear Let it Grow or something.

That Trey guy's an alright player....and I've heard that he knows Bobby taboot.

Sounds like the Lanc is gonna be the place to be in KW next Friday. I know some locals are headed to Jimmy Swift Band at Pepper Jack's on the 21st also, but as a backup plan JSB are playing Guelph on Jan 27th so you can still catch them even if you go to the Fatties.

One time at a Ratdog show in 1997 (Hershey PA I think) I showed up with no tickets, and bought a counterfeit ticket (as the shady scalpers know how bad people need to see Bobby), was humiliated by the people at the gate for trying to get in with a counterfeit ticket (who knew?). And then just danced outside the fence because I could still hear the show.

Yeah the Horseshoe was way too packed last time. It took like 15 minutes just to make your way outside to smoke. I think the Phoenix will be much better. I haven't been there since the Ween country tour in 1996 but if I remember correctly there was ample room.

Personally, I don't know a single person who really does "love Raymond". Ray seemed like a funny comedian years ago but sitcoms suck the humour out of most of these guys.

We've downloaded a couple of his movies and videos from England and they are fall off your chair funny. I can see his schtick getting stale eventually, but luckily it hasn't yet. In time though I imagine he'll be so recognized that he won't be able to get away with his interviews and stuff.
