  1. Game two was insane.

All things being equal, my *preference* would be for Tampa, but if Boston makes it to the final Toronto gets an extra draft pick out of the Kaberle deal; second round, I believe. So that gives me a reason. But if Tampa beats out Boston, then I am going to have to cheer for them to take the Cup.

One interesting question if San Jose should happen to win the Cup: when was the last time that a starting goalie won the Cup in back-to-back years with two different teams? I'd go google that, but frankly I'm going to bed so I can wake up tomorrow and watch the Vancouver-SJ game with my coffee and breakfast burrito.

  2. Saw that earlier today. It is pretty cool to see Bob communicating directly with fans.

I enjoy the facebook posts that actually come from the artists themselves... including Ryan Adams, Corb Lund, Billy Bragg, John Hiatt, and, as far as I have seen... Elton John!

  3. Did anyone else notice the organist in Boston playing the riff to Shakedown Street for a little bit between plays in tonight's game?

Anyway, go Bruins! At least to the Cup finals, anyway. I don't care if they win, but the Leafs get an extra draft pick out of the Kaberle deal if the Bruins make it that far.

  4. I was curious if Canadians abroad have a chance to vote by mail or something. Anyone know?

I'm still in Korea, and I voted. I had a special ballot mailed to me, and I filled it out and returned it. The ballot counted in the last legal residence I lived in before moving overseas.

But if the election had been in July, I would have been ineligible because by then I would have been outside the country for more than five years (there are exemptions for certain people, but I wouldn't be one of them).

  5. Unfortunately, Kim Jong-Il's death would just put his son into the president's chair, and the first thing he would probably do would be something aggressive, just to show everyone that he can't be pushed around and that he is in charge. But I get what you're saying.

  6. This time, he has a majority, so as long as he can keep his own people in line (which I personally doubt, but that is another story), he can pretty much do as he pleases.

Why do you doubt this? I'd say he has done a pretty good job of it so far. Or do you think that now that there is a majority, Harper will have less control over his own people?

  7. For all those Deadwood fans, give Justified a chance. Tim Olyphant is the main character and tons of Deadwood regulars keep making quest apperances.

Downloaded the first season last night on your recommendation. So far, so good!

  8. Fitz & The Tantrums are pretty good. And I've heard good things about Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses, although I haven't gotten around to actually checking them out yet.

But yeah, that font hurt my eyes, too. Especially in that colour on that colour background.

  9. I definitely enjoyed the first episode, but like Kev said, it will take a little bit to remember the various connections between the characters.

Will your wife like it? Depends. It's not overly-fantasyish, as in there are no magical sorcerors or mythical beings or elves or faeries or anything like that. It's seems more like a political drama that happens to be set in a fictional medieval world. A lot less blood and a lot fewer tits than Spartacus, but still some blood and tits.
