  1. Scheduling note: Both Winwood and Santana are 15 minutes earlier than originally scheduled tonight. Winwood now at 7:45 and Santana now at 9:15.
  2. There were some real blues acts last night but unfortunately for people at the Bluesfest they were performing downtown.
  3. Yeah, the solution she hinted at was reasonable - don't schedule a quiet-ish act at a time or on a stage where they might get drowned out. The letter writer needn't provide a solution; she's not a professional festival person. She just has to provide feedback from a consumer standpoint and let the pros do the rest.

  5. Gord's band was Dave Clark, Dale Morningstar, Julie Doiron, Josh from Skydiggers..... Am I wrong on any of those or have I forgotten anyone?
  6. I thought Gord's set was terrible. Weak material with an all-star but un-rehearsed band. Did the Sadies play with Levon? I was in and out of that show.
  7. 32,000 people tonight for Rush etc. That's a biiiiiiiig crowd. From looking at it I thought it was the biggest crowd ever at Bluesfest, but if I remember right Dylan or Van Morrison had 35,000...
  8. Tusks was awesome just now. Gonna go home and rest up for tonight!! Maximum snootage!!

    Bob Probert RIP

    This is kinda neat
  10. Tonight: The Soirée The Planet Smashers John Butler Trio Gord Downie (anyone know who's in his band these days?) then roll with whatever is sounding good...
  11. It's great. The lineup, if there is one, is along the middle wall on the inside of the museum. (it'll make sense when you're there). There are ropes to designate the line area. Entrance door is directly opposite the gift shop. Great area for photography if you're taking your camera bouche. No special ticket needed. Small area though, get there early if it's a popular show. Guessing capacity is 150-200?
  12. He's been there every night so far. Andrew Bird was incredible tonight!
  13. The Ethics Great Lake Swimmers (until they bore me to tears) Andrew Bird

Loved that drummer-dude was wearing a Maiden shirt. Thought the backup singers really filled in the vocals quite nicely. And the sound was amazing!
  15. that was such an awesome night of music. boo to bobby's hammer pants though. nice to see he can rock a fanny pack still though.
  16. For parking I'd say your best bet is street parking in Chinatown or that area between Chinatown and Albert St. Watch for no-parking signs, the bylaw people feast on Bluesfest parkers who bend or break the parking rules.
  17. Don't forget Andrew Vincent with band and Chris Page as part of Kelpalooza before Maiden goes on. Rhume too, but they overlap.
