The five guys in Moe usually make albums this way: Write tunes, literally jam them into shape on tour, then cut 'em. This time, the upstate New York band flipped the script, recording songs as they were composed in the studio. The result is a concise, punchy good time, emphasizing the songcraft inside Moe's improvising mettle and the double-guitar pow of Al Schnier and Chuck Garvey, even when they're not soloing. The second half of the album's title certainly applies to Schnier and Garvey's early-Seventies Mick Taylor-and-Keith Richards crossfire of high-treble slash and lightly distorted skids in the title song and the thumper "Queen of Everything." In "Darkness," the guitarists sound like a pair of Neil Youngs, trading crunchy flourishes behind bassist Rob Derhak's vocal. "Conviction Song" and "September" highlight Moe's autumnal-ballad gifts, particularly the deep-sigh grace of the band's harmonies. But if this was 1973, the FM pick-to-click here would be the Badfinger-like guitar chop and dirty-Eagles chorale of "All Roads Lead to Home" — which, for these songs, is now the stage.

hey yall, me my buddy jakis and pete are doing the moe. run buffalo philly and boston with raq after party in philly. jan 31st feb 1st and feb 2nd driving back sunday. My brother ryan was suppose to come with us but has been waiting for this surggery and got scheduled feb 1 so can't do the trip. Thus it's three of us which is dooable but we have extras for each show now so was looking for one more to make the costs cheaper and just for good times.. me and pete are departing from ottawa and picking up jake in burlinton, on then off to buffalo.. looking for one more person to ride with.. 100 bucks for the tickets. we got the hotels dirt cheap via jake. 60 bucks in buffalo, 80 bucks in philly and 110 in boston between 4 hopefully. plus rental i get through my company for about 100 buck plus gas for four days.. so should be a cheap ass trip for what we are going to see. and ya raq is 12 bucks for the after party.. i will be driving through toronto to pick up jakis thursday afternoon so toronto skanks are into this scene too.. anyone interested leave me a message. we will do three but four will be more heady for everyone..

definatley in.. VIP is 450 us 400 canadian but in my opinion worth every penny. i have been to langerado twice and had vip twice. myself i drink alot of beer and the beer down their dosn't do it for me. i buy duty free and we drive down. vip dosn't question you at the gates at all. so we drink our canadian beer all weekend ice cold from our coolers. then they do have louging tents and shit like that and they have vip parking then shuttle you to the show so you don't have to walk with your cooler.. also last year we went to jacksonville the day before and went and saw moe. at this very cool bar called the freebird live which is right off the beach. we had an awsome time and hope their is another cool band their the night before langerado!! ahooooo

Hey all, for all you Ottawa folk, close show in canton ny. Hour and a half away on thursday night. Free show at that, in a dorm hall. I saw reid genauer and the assembly of dust their a few months ago. Really small venue and great feel, bring your own booze afair at that.
Donna jean and the zen tricksters. Donna jean formerly with the dead and the tricksters probably one of the best grateful dead cover bands i have ever seen.. and it's a free show :)
