Just when I was begining to think that you were on the straight and narrow.............
Come on you know me better than that? You and I this year went to Vermont to see Trey' date=' Mike and the Duo play with Phil Lesh and Friends with less than 5 hours notice by the seat of our pants.
Off the top of my head I have no idea how many gigs I have been to this year, it would take me a day to figure that out.

I'm just saying that it has been a few months since you called me up from a concert to make arrangements to drive 9 hours the next morning to another concert, all on a whim. I thought maybe you were cured.
If what I have is a disease, I would rather live with it rather than be cured.
Thank you very much.

Since London sold out in a day and Manchester is nearly sold out also, Genesis seem to be at over 500,000 tickets sold for their European Tour so far...

Genesis Turns Germany On
Updated 05:07 PST Sun, Nov 26 2006
Peter Rieger Konzertagentur sold 40,000 Genesis tickets for Düsseldorf LTU-Arena so fast that the company had a second show on sale within a matter of days.
Although the fab three surviving members don't start their reunion tour for more than another six months, PRK's Stefan Güntner reported that 200,000 of the tickets for the eight arena dates went within a day.
The June 26 Düsseldorf show was soon up to 40,000 - expected to be a 45,000-capacity configuration - and the second show went on sale November 15, five days after the Genesis box offices had opened.
Even before it had gone on sale, the overall ticket count had rocketed to 300,000, with every chance of hitting one-third of a million by the November 16-17 weekend.
The German run starts at Hamburg AOL Arena June 15 and, intertwined with dates in the neighbouring mainland European countries, continues with Hannover AWD-Arena, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart's Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, Berlin's Olympiastadion, Leipzig's Zentralstadion, Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena and Munich' Olympiastadion June 23 through July 10.
The ticket frenzy over what will be the first Genesis tour of any sort in 15 years has spread across the continent, with Flemming Schmidt of Live Nation's DKB Concertpromotion seeing the 50,000 available for the June 14 show in Herning, Denmark, disappear in 40 minutes.
For Reigers's office, the Genesis sales come on the back of success with shows from George Michael and Pink, part of European tours produced by the U.K.'s Marshall Arts.
Michael did 120,000 tickets across 10 sold-out arenas, while Pink's 12 arena dates shifted 110,000.

TimmyB,
Congrats!! That'll be a trip seeing them in the UK.
You are coming out to TMB at Massey right? It's the night after Gov't Mule and the night before Victor Wooten
:)

We will see if I can make it to the Musical Box next week, it all depends on if I finish a couple of assignments for my class?

I would love to go to this gig, but alas I'll be at work on Monday night.
I would skip work except for the fact that I saw the D back in 2002 at the Warehouse (now the Kool Haus). I thought they were hilarious and well worth the price of admission.

Still sad about this fifteen years later. There will never be another like Freddie Mercury, may he continue to rest in peace.

THIS DAY IN MUSIC
For Friday November 24, 2006.
1991 - Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury dies of AIDS-related pneumonia at 45. Queen's biggest hits were the No. 1 songs "Another One Bites the Dust," which sold more than 2 million copies, and the million-selling "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." The group is also well known for the double-sided hit "We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You."

That's awesome but, no Old Trafford as well?
I decided to get tickets to...
Event: Genesis
Venue: Old Trafford
Manchester, Lancashire, UK
Event Date: Sat 7 Jul 2007, 19:00
Order Date: 24/11/06
...as well.
I also might hit them up a couple other places in Europe as well like in Germany and/or Italy, though that's up in the air.

Right on. Please let us know what he says if you get the chance.
Are you heading to either the Hamilton or Toronto TMB gigs? I may catch the show tomorrow if I can get last minute clearance ... I WILL be at the Massey Hall show for sure. We're organzing our usual pre-show meet-n-greet-n-drink-n-smoke at the Library Pub. I'll post details as it gets closer.
Later . . .

I will let you know what he says if there is a Q & A.
I plan on attending the Hamilton gig of the Musical Box, though not too sure about Toronto as of yet.
I'm in such a Genesis mood right now and they are great each and everytime I see them, plus the vibe from the crowd at the upcoming shows will be interesting with the recent announcement of a "series of gigs."

For all of you that know me well know that Genesis are easily one of my favorite groups ever, in all there incarnations throughout all there years.
I was lucky enough to see them back in June of 1992 and I would never state that the lineup I witnessed was watered down.
Yes they had their share of Billboard Hot 100 hits in the eighties and early nineties, yet as Tony Banks stated in their press conference last week, there is another side to Genesis and I personally believe that their "series of shows" will be well represented by both their hits and their longer more progressive material.
After nearly a decade of seeing over fifty concerts a year all around North America, I believe that Tony Banks, Phil Collins & Mike Rutherford getting back together on stage again will bring me across the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in my life to witness at least a couple of these "series of gigs."
I literally spent beyond my means for almost ten years going to concerts, which did not allow for me to travel to Europe. So I believe that this July, Genesis will take me back to my roots (no pun intended).
I must start saving for it sooner rather than later, so I guess I will have to go to a few less gigs in 2007, but I believe it will be well worth it to visit the lands of my forefathers and see one of my favorite bands perform infront of huge crowds that love them much more than North America ever did.
Turn it on again.
Tim
PS Plus I have the former Genesis sideman Bill Bruford tonight in Hamilton! And the Musical Box tomorrow also in Hamilton. It's a good time to be a fan of Genesis.

May you rest in peace Ed.
And I felt it was a beautiful tribute to Mr. Bradley on Sunday night.

FYI, the CD + DVD version is not to released for a couple of more weeks for some strange reason?
Today (Tuesday November 14, 2006) you can only purchase the CD version of 'Live at the Fillmore East.'
In a couple of weeks you can pick up the CD + DVD version.
The DVD features all six songs in Hi-Resolution Stereo (24bit/96k) with photo montages (no video).
I'm going to wait, as I've heard this bootlegged before anyways.

Nice to have you back, my friend. I was thinking of you while enduring a very mediocre Dylan show the other night in Toronto. I assume you were somewhere in the room.
Never leave here again.
I was in the room fourth row on the floor. Not Bob Dylan at his best, though still better than Ottawa two nights before.
I will try not to leave here again.

It's a gig I will consider attending, though not until much closer to the date.
This unfortunately will be the first year in 5 or 6 that I did not see moe. live. Something I'm planning to remedy next year.

I hope to ask him that if there is a Q & A?

Ola T ! Sorry I missed you on your brief return to Ottawa.
Sounds like Basher was hitting on you. I think that's what is considered to be a Basher bash. He was probably expecting the appropriate response of "Suck my balls!" which he would have complied to.
On the other hand, I don't want Basher in that way.
