  1. last night was great. we ended up right next to timmy b! the crowd had a few losers but i loved it when neil put them in their place, the dude clapping....'who are you playing with?' hehehe

i had been hoping we'd get tonight's the night ever since i saw the setlists someone posted up recently. it was great, neil was groovin. sultan was wacky!

i took a few pics that i'll post up later :)

It was nice to see you again phorbesie as well as Velvet.

I didn't notice you taking any pictures, then again it's not like my eyes often left the stage while Neil Young was on it.

  2. "The Sultan" was the surprise of the night. It was great that a roadie came out dressed as a sultan and banged a gong to start the song and all the way through as well.

It's a song I could very much see the Sadies perform. Interestingly enough I saw Travis and Dallas Good at the show, next time I see them I'm going to bring that up to them.

Now for my final night of 6 pack Neil Young run in Buffalo. Here's hoping for "Campaigner" and/or "Love in Mind" and/or "Kansas."

  3. I hope this new Black Crowes collaborative effort won't make Luther think he's a good songwriter and thus, abandon doing covers, the only thing The Allstars are good at.

Luther Dickinson will not have an opportunity to feel he's a good songwriter wrapped around the wings of the Black Crowes. The Brothers of a feather write the songs and that is it, minus the odd cover chosen by them. That was part of the reason why that band has problems with former significant members, like Marc Ford is the fact that the Robinson brothers do not share the songwriting.

  4. I awoke to watch the 'Concert for George' on DVD today in rememberance of the great George Harrison.

At the moment I'm watching the Billy Preston and Eric Clapton version of "Isn't it a Pity." To which

Clapton said this of "Isn't it a Pity" in the film "The ones like, I'm attracted to most of all are the ones that are just innocent. Really songs from the heart. "Give Me Love" and "Isn't it a Pity" song of that ilk that I love the most because they are just straight forward love songs. Spiritual love songs. "Isn't it a Pity" I think is probably one of his finest."

I was unfortunately unable to attend the 'Concert for George,' that happened on the one year anniversary of Harrison's passing, though I did try and get tickets for that one. I was lucky enough to attend the 'Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007' this past July 28, 2007 where I was able to hear Clapton perform "Isn't it a Pity."

I believe after the 'Concert for George' I will put on 'the Concert for Bangladesh' and maybe even the newly released on DVD 'Help' today.

    Miss you George.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim

  6. Yeah, i heard. Bummer. Can't believe TicketBastard is STILL selling tix for the show.

Looks like a resched to February. They had better honour my tickets at that show! (don't want to give up front row centre ).

Next 2 nights of Neil will EASILY take my mind of it all ;)

    Agreed, see you there.

    Tim

  7. Oh, I don't know....

I heard through the grapevine that he's got a fatty liver...mmmmm.... burgers....

Good to see you yesterday TimmyB!! You were lookin' good.

It was good to see you as well.

Burgers will forever be a part of my diet. Mmmm burgers.

  8. Hey Everybody,

I'll be at all three Massey Hall gigs as well as the gig at Shea's so if you're around any of those nights look for me or let me know.

I saw my 40th Neil Young show in Detroit on November 10th and it is the second tour in a row that Neil has given me exactly what I had hoped for with the format of the show.

Now here's hoping for something off of 'Time Fades Away' at one of these upcoming gigs.

  9. (pretending Bruce Hornsby reads this board) Have a Happy Birthday Bruce! And Bruce, to this day, I don't know why you got up off of your piano stool and took the 3 steps down off of the stage at the Glenn Gould Theatre to greet me and shake my hand out of an entire audience, but I thank you for that moment.

It was a rare experience of mine to touch the musical embodiment of greatness.

    That was a cool moment.

    Tim

  10. Right on ... still have a few months to figure it all out.

In the meantime, are we gonna get you out to Turn It On Again on Dec 8th at the Danforth Music Hall? We're organizing a preshow party at the Black Swan before.

That's something I'm interested in attending.

I will let you know when I decide.

    Tim

  11. Let's rock. Gonna be a great show and I'm totally expecting Copps to have super HIGH energy for the Boss.

Lots of time to plan, but do you have any ideas on a possible venue for some preshow drinks, food, etc?

Anyone else thinking about Buffalo Boss too?

    Hey Kanada Kev,

In 2005 when I saw the Boss at the ACC and a couple of days later I was a walk up at the HSBC because the ACC gig was so good, this scenario may very well happen again with Copps and then the HSBC.

I already saw the E Street Band ACC gig this year and I only regret it when I miss a Bruce Springsteen gig that I was able to attend, so again it's a very good possibility.

    Tim

  12. Happy Brithday Bruce Hornsby,

You are one of my three favorite Bruce's in the music industry. I did get tickets today for one of the other three Bruce's, though I'm very much looking forward to seeing you again not too far down the line.

May you have a long and healthy life.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim

    This Day in Music

    For November 23, 2007.

1954 - Bruce Hornsby is born in Williamsburg, Va. His biggest hit is the No. 1 song ``The Way It Is'' in 1986.

  13. I love you like you were my own brother.

Everything has gone as well as possibly could be expected' date=' especially the fact that my kidney is working well in my brother.

    [/quote']

For god's sakes man! Don't give him your other kidney, you need that!

I'm holding out for a nice piece of his liver.

I'd give you part of my liver if you needed it.

I did say I love you like you were my own brother.

    Tim

  14. I too scored a GA ticket on the floor, so if anyone wants to hang on the floor for the Boss at Copps let me know?

I tried for four together and was unsuccessful so I attempted to try for a pair and again nothing so I got myself a single and then after that I interestingly enough got three together for all of my other friends that wanted me to get them tickets.

    Tim

  15. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, especially to you MarcO for starting this thread, I love you like you were my own brother.

Everything has gone as well as possibly could be expected, especially the fact that my kidney is working well in my brother.

I arrived home today but am in no condition to sit behind a computer more than a couple of minutes so I will write more when I'm able.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim
