  1. Are you kidding? Late night television can be great on most nights. Conan is still funny and he does book good musical acts, and The Daily Show is the best program on the air.

    No arguments there. The Daily Show is the best program on television and it is a latenight show to boot.

    I also enjoy Conan, as I once enjoyed Letterman, though I have never enjoyed Leno.

  2. Sometimes latenight television isn't bad at all.

  4. Well Tim,I can agree with you on the fact that no where did it say anyone would be guaranteed a ticket if they joined,only "guarantee of piroity" ,but they also conviently forgot to mention that tickets would be limited.

    Hey Esau,

    You couldn't be more wrong.

    U2 did not forgot to mention that these tickets were limited.

    A simple reply like the editted one above I did would have done just fine Tim,I obviously missed it and would have re-read the page.There is no reason at all to make a big detailed post in reply to me,as I was simply trying to discuss the topic not prove you worng,I did have other comments but I see your more interested in crushing any opposition to your feelings on the matter then discussion and so I shall let you.....

    Regardless,U2 has taken advantage of their fans and in my books no matter what the CD sales,ticket sales etc they'll never have my respect.

    Also,I think perhaps your getting a compulsive/obsesive behavior issue over this U2 stuff,might wanna mellow out abit.

    I apologize if you felt I was too harsh Esau.

    This past week I have had the week off of work. Being a one of those that payed a $40US membership at www.u2.com I have been passing the week by reading peoples complaints on their messageboard Zootopia.

    If I was short with you, it's because I have been reading the same misconceptions all week long of avaliability and access to presale when all these people should have just read the information given to them.

    Everyone who knows me knows that I have OCD about everything pertaining to music so what can I do?

    I'll say this I made my bed so if I don't get presale tickets when they do become avaliable for Toronto I let people know, but I won't be crying about it like a lot of peoples posts I've been reading all week.

  5. Well Tim,I can agree with you on the fact that no where did it say anyone would be guaranteed a ticket if they joined,only "guarantee of piroity" ,but they also conviently forgot to mention that tickets would be limited.

    Hey Esau,

    You couldn't be more wrong.

    The bellow article was off of the main page of www.u2.com read the first line of the fourth paragraph "We have secured a limited number of these advance-sale tickets for U2.Com Subscribers."

    U2 did not forgot to mention that these tickets were limited.

    Anyone who thought otherwise didn't read what was infront of them.

    Ryan to Release Three

    Prolific singer-songwriter opens another deluge

    Not to be outdone by fellow indie-rock songwriting machine Bright Eyes -- who released two CDs this week -- Ryan Adams will release three albums this year through Lost Highway Records.

    Cold Roses, a double CD by Adams and his backing band the Cardinals, will hit stores April 19th. The next two, Jacksonville (named for Adams' North Carolina birthplace) and 29 (his age, as of three months ago), do not yet have release dates. The latter finds Adams again teaming with longtime producer Ethan Johns.

    The busy release schedule is nothing new for Adams. In 2003, he released the loose, uptempo Rock N Roll album, followed by the more somber and orchestrated twin EPs Love Is Hell, Part 1 and Part 2.

    Adams plans to tour North America and Europe beginning in the spring.

    TREY AND MIKE TO PERFORM AT BONNAROO

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon will both perform at the fourth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, scheduled for June 10-12, 2005 in Manchester, Tennessee. The three-day camping event will feature dozens of great bands and an array of art and entertainment options.
    Trey Anastasio will make his third appearance at Bonnaroo with a very special late night performance backed by his new band. Trey appeared at the inaugural festival in 2002 and again in 2004 with his horn-driven ten-piece band. Last year's show featured an opening set of self-composed selections with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra.
    After a successful (and very fun) sold-out four-show run last December, Mike Gordon will perform at Bonnaroo in a special collaboration with NYC improv favorites Benevento/Russo Duo. Mike played at Bonnaroo in 2003 with Leo Kottke.
    Tickets for the 2005 Bonnaroo Music Festival will go on sale Saturday, January 29th at 10:00 AM Eastern Time through www.bonnaroo.com.
    For more information on the festival and a full list of confirmed acts go to www.bonnaroo.com
  9. Trey late night should be interesting...
    I'll give you "better" but they're going to have to EARN the "significantly". I mean, I may be on my own here, but I think Trey has been a bust at every bonnaroo so far...
    Trey's third year opening set was historical and was lucky to be close enough to enjoy it and I though the second set was amazing.
    Maybe if we're lucky Trey will do an opera this year... ::
    Hah,Hah! Yes that would be lucky?
    I'm hoping for a Trey Band that consists of Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Ray Paczkowski and Jon Fishman.
  10. KING CRIMSON "Discipline" (1981 Virgin/EMI)
    What's the motive behind this choice? Is it the birthday of the Recording Engineer's Assistant's doberman retreiver? Or was it released in Austria on this day in 1981?
    You freak. ::
    I've just been in the mood to listen to the great King Crimson, specifically Tony Levin's amazing bass lines.
    Is that alright MarcO?
    Today I'm listening to:
    Paul McCartney "Wingspan: Hits and History" (2001 MPL/EMI)
    Since I have to justify to MarcO why I listen to anything, it is because billboard recently announced that he is preparing to tour North America in the fall with 38 dates. And I can't wait to see Sir Paul again!
  11. What we did last year was leave on wensday nite. and do the 12 13 hours all at nite, so u get there at 5 - 6 on thursday morning. WHen the gates open at 8, it will only take u an hour to get to in.My first 2 years it took 12+ hours to get in, so get there early!!!
    Good call The_Porch_Wrangler,
    And nice bonnaroo avatar!
  12. Trey late night should be interesting...
    I'll give you "better" but they're going to have to EARN the "significantly". I mean, I may be on my own here, but I think Trey has been a bust at every bonnaroo so far...
    The Trey Anastasio Band first set at the first bonnaroo I thought was good and the second set I thought was not so good.
    Trey's third year opening set was historical and was lucky to be close enough to enjoy it and I though the second set was amazing.
    So I half agree with you the first year was so so at best and the third year for me was something to behold.
    Also to add the best thing I think Dave Matthews has been doing since 2000 has been Dave Matthews and Friends which Trey was apart of so that bumps Trey's apperances up a bit more for me as well.
    I stated significantly better not just for Trey but for Mike Gordon coming with the Benevento/Russo Duo as well. I saw their recent late night New Years Eve performance at B.B. Kings Bar & Grill and it surpased all my expectations of what the concert was going to be. I'll be getting a review of that show up on the JamReviews section soon.
  13. Here's some more information on the RV subject.
    from www.bonnaroo.com
    RV INFORMATION:
    Due to the increase in the number of people attending the festival in RVs and the amount of space that RV¹s require, we have established new policies for the 2005 festival:
    - All RVs will be parked in specifically designated, RV-only areas on the festival grounds
    - There will be a special RV pass required for each RV to enter the festival grounds. Passes will be $40. Supplies will be limited.
    - RV passes will be available when you purchase your tickets to Bonnaroo.
    - Under no circumstances will an RV be permitted to enter the festival grounds without a pass.
    - At the time you purchase an RV Parking Pass you will be given the option of purchasing a Companion Vehicle Pass for $10. The Companion Vehicle pass will allow an accompanying vehicle into a designated camping area next to the RV camping areas.
    For more complete and detailed information regarding RV¹s at Bonnaroo, please visit www.bonnaroo.com/rv
  14. I just picked up my tickets for bonnaroo and they gave me the option to get an RV pass for $40US or RV+car pass for $50US.
    I don't remember that option coming up in years past so this seems to be something new.
    I know \/\/illy was thinking about an RV as were many others on this board so it's something to consider for the general onsale tomorrow ie. enough on your credit card to cover the extra cost of $40-50US.
  15. I joined yesterday past the January 25 deadline for access codes and they still mailed me one today and I got the cheapest price level which puts me at either even money or I saved $20US (Based on the fact that you have to pay $30US for the possibility of getting the cheapest price tickets.).
    Goodluck to all trying to get the cheapest bonnaroo tickets today or tomorrow.
