  1. I spent all day yesterday looking at real estate listings in Hamilton. The time until I can embrace your handsome manliness in my firm arms as I gaze yearningly into your eyes is but a few half-years away. Be strong, my lovely.

    Sunghee says hello.

I look forward to the day that happens.

    Tell Sunghee hello for me.

    Peace,

    Tim

  2. On the ABB site they actually indicate for many of the shows which band is closing. There is no note up on the CMAC show yet.

There was a list floating around before that ran through all of the shows and had WSP closing. It was right about all the rest' date=' so hopefully its on for this one too. That being said, the venue website has ABB above WSP.

Also on the 2009 season the gig information talks about the Allman Brothers Band before Widespread Panic.

Either way I'm going to this gig and I'm looking forward to both acts. I specifically hope that there is some interplay between the guitarists from one act to the other.

I specifically hope to see Jimmy Herring play with the Allmans. I have not seen Herring with the Allmans since 2000.

    Peace,

    Tim

  3. I got a pair of the cheapest seats in SEC LEC ROW KKK SEATS 301-302. I have to go and see the Allman Brothers Band at least once on their 40th annivesary.

Widespread Panic better not be headlining this gig' date=' they have no business headlining over the Allman Brothers Band north of the Mason/Dixon line.

    Peace,

    Tim[/quote']

Speak for yourself. And sorry to dissapoint you but all sources suggest that Panic will be headlining. Thanks for putting a positive spin on it though!

7th row for me. Figured if I'm going to go to a sit down show I might as well be up front (my positive ABB spin)

FWIW neither of these bands are filling places. Hence the tour together. Wasn't ABB's last trip to Ontario Casino Rama?

Don't get me wrong I enjoy Widspread Panic, I was being objective with my above statement. The Allman Brothers Band have a far more significant following in the North East, more specifically Upstate New York than WP.

The Allman Brothers Band are playing between Rochester and Buffalo, New York for this gig not Orilla, Ontario. Over the last decade plus the Allman have gotten decent crowds headling nearly every year at Darien Lake Performing Arts Centre which is a larger amphitheatre than Constellation Performing Arts Center and last year they headlined CPAC over Ratdog.

In the end the headliner should be the act that keeps the crowd to the end and in the end the Allman Brothers Band is that band over Widspread Panic in Upstate New York.

I look forward to seeing both of these bands on August 22nd, I just do not want to see the crowd one third empty by the time that WP is finished if they indeed were the headliner.

    Peace,

    Tim

  5. Unfortunately I am not able to go and see the Dead next week in Buffalo due to work. Oh well at least I was at State College in October and I will be at Rothbury in July.

I paid $178.86 Canadian for the pair and will take face value or best offer.

    Here is the information:

  6. I enjoyed the show a lot, but not as much as the last few shows. No reflection on Neil, more of a comment on the amazing setlist of the last Ottawa show and how great it was to see him at Massey Hall.

Neil consistenty brings it, the guy is never just going through the motions, and it's all but impossible to find someone with a catalogue like his playing like that.

I completely agree about the catalogue, I have now seen Neil Young perform 201 different songs (5 new from Kingston) in 47 concerts. The only artist/group I have seen perform more in around the same amount of shows is Phish. And though I have seen Bob Dylan do a lot of different songs in 40 concerts he is nowhere near the 200 mark.

    Peace,

    Tim

  7. Good show, heard a lot off the new album that I had yet to hear live from last fall. Plus "Lost in Space" was the highlight of the night for me as I finally got a song from Neil's underrated 'Hawks & Doves' album and it was great to see it performed with Ben Keith and Anthony Crawford on duo acoustic Taylor twelve strings. It was also great to hear "When You Dance I Can Really Love You" and "Pocahontas" again which I had both not heard since 1996 and 1999 respectively and it's always a treat to see the peace dove keyboards drop for "Like a Hurricane" albeit a short but sweet version.

Yet seeing the previous setlists from out east I really wish I made a trip to Newfoundland or Halifax to see songs like "Speakin' Out," "Barstool Blues" and especially "Change Your Mind" which Neil has not done live since the 'Sleeps with Angels' tour in 1994. And since Neil dedicated "Old Man" to a lot of his family that were in Kingston that night it seemed that he could not wait to get off stage to hang out with them as the K-Rock set was a couple shorter than the previous gigs.

The Kingston fans were a great crowd that were far more appreciative than the two larger cities fans of Toronto and Ottawa between Kingston on the 401 Hwy.

On a side note it was nice again to see Neil cover Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" in Kingston, the first gig I ever attended in Kingston was Dylan last fall where he closed his set with "Watchtower."

    Peace,

    Tim

  9. The Code Talkers show with Jimmy Herring, was one of the best nights of my life!

    Thanks again for everything.

The Codetalkers featuring Col. Bruce Hampton and Jimmy Herring was the best gig ever at Pepper Jack's.

  10. Donovan

    S9:26

    1. Hurdy Gurdy Man (with Ben Harper and the Relentless7 and Jim James who took the second verse)

I want to hear that ASAP

Unfortunately Donovan's mic wasn't on at least for the audience speakers for the first few words in "Hurdy Gurdy Man." I assume when they release this benefit for DVD/blu-ray release that they will have the vocals audible. But whoever bootlegged it will not have a great copy.

    Peace,

    Tim

  11. Wow, that's the most Neil's mixed it up from night to night without being solo acoustic since possibly 1997.

I am now pissed I am only going to Kingston, as I can't make it to London due to an evening exam at McMaster.

I hope I get "Barstool Blues," "Lost in Space" and "Change Your Mind" all in Kingston.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim

  12. I'm going to this and I'm very much looking forward to all these folk, rock, country & bluegrass legends performing together on stage at the Gardens in tribute to one of the greatest human beings to have ever walked the earth, Pete Seeger.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim

Crosby, Stills And Nash Dust Off Demos

    March 30, 2009 02:58 PM ET

    Gary Graff, Detroit

Early recordings of a dozen Crosby, Stills & Nash tracks -- including favorites such as "Marrakesh Express," "Almost Cut My Hair," "Deja Vu," "Love the One You're With" and "Chicago" -- will be featured on "Crosby, Stills & Nash Demos," coming out June 2 on Rhino to coincide with the trio's June 18 induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and summer tour dates.

"It's fascinating stuff," Graham Nash, who co-produced the set with Joel Bernstein, tells Billboard.com. "On some of these songs you really hear us becoming a band, trying out different ideas in our songwriting and singing and harmonies. It really is a time capsule."

The "Demos" version of "Long Time Gone," for instance, features just Crosby and Stills during June of 1968, a few weeks before Nash joined the group. "Marrakesh Express," meanwhile, was recorded four months before CSN's first album came out in 1969. The set also includes: a Crosby solo demo of "Almost Cut My Hair;" a Stills solo take of "My Love is a Gentle Thing" form 1969; Neil Young joining Crosby and Nash on "Music is Love" for Crosby's 1971 solo debut album "If I Could Only Remember My Name;" and demos of three tracks for Nash's 1971 solo debut "Songs For Beginners" -- "Sleep Song," "Be Yourself" and "Chicago."

The full "Demos" track stack included: "Marrakesh Express," "Almost Cut My Hair," "You Don't Have To Cry," "Deja Vu," "Sleep Song," "My Love Is A Gentle Thing," "Be Yourself," "Music Is Love," "Singing Call," "Long Time Gone," "Chicago" and "Love The One You're With."

"Demos" is the latest result from a spate of vault trolling that's produced box sets for Crosby and Nash, a demos collection from Stills and expanded editions of "If I Could Only Remember My Name" and "Songs For Beginners." Stills is currently working on his box set, while CSN is recording an album of covers that's being supervised by Rick Rubin.

    CSN's summer tour schedule includes:

June 1 St. Louis, MO (Chaifetz Arena)

June 4 Chicago, IL (Charter One Pavilion)

June 6 Detroit, MI (Meadow Brook)

June 7 Toledo, OH (Zoo Amphitheatre)

June 10 Canandaigua, NY (Constellation PAC)

June 12 Cooperstown, NY (Doubleday Field)

June 13 Mashantucket, CT (MGM Grand @ Foxwoods)

June 14 Boston, MA (Bank of America Pavilion)

June 27 Glastonbury, England (Glastonbury Festival)

    June 29 Cork, Ireland (Marquee)

July 1 London (Royal Albert Hall)

July 3 Bonn, Germany (Museum Plaza)

    July 4 Paris (The Olympia)

July 6 Amsterdam (Heineken Music Hall)

    July 7 Brussels (Forest National)

July 10 Manchester, England (Manchester EN Arena)

July 11 Edinburgh, Scotland (Edinburgh Castle)
