    The house posters came in two colors; I grabbed two and sold one to gentlemonkey. I like the design a lot. That was the design on the tickets too.

    They came in three colours, one for each colour design for the tickets.

    Also I had friends wait in line in vain for the Pollock the first night where we were right up front in the line to get in and he still did not get the print.

    When my friend and I flew in from Buffalo we had a lay over in Baltimore and Pollock was on our plane. We spoke to him after we got off and he was a very kind and easygoing fellow.

  3. Marc Olszewski with Steve De Piante @ the Sky Dragon Centre 2/28/09

    This past Saturday I was witness to something that unfortunately does not happen too often, my good friend Marc Olszewski played a gig.

    The last time I remember seeing Marc perform in front of a crowd that was not at his place or in front of a campfire was playing with Todd Gillies of the Fat Cats at Pepper Jack Cafe a year or maybe two ago. This time Marc performed across the street from Pepper Jack's at the Sky Dragon Centre on King William Street in Hamilton opening for Louise Kent.

    Marc shared the stage with another good friend, former bassist of the now defunct What the Thunder Said Steve Vincent De Piante. This time Steve strapped on an acoustic guitar instead of a bass. Steve told me that it was the first time he played to a crowd with a guitar in five years and he did well playing rhythm guitar with some lead at points throughout the night. Though for those who do not know Steve might have thought he was Jazy Z, Hugo Boss or even RuPaul as those were some of the names Marc introduced Steve as in between the songs. I thought Marc went a little too far with the RuPaul introduction, but it did get a laugh from the crowd.

    The set began with three songs penned by Marc entitled "Easy Does It," "Water Walker," and "Let it Go." All three songs which Marc said were written in the last few months were well developed lyrically and musically with some excellent guitar work.

    Next was "May You Never" a song by the British singer-songwriter John Martyn who recently passed away (d. January 29, 2009). Marc and Steve did a justice of one of Martyn's most well known songs, it was a song covered by Eric Clapton and it ended up on the 1977 classic 'Slowhand.' Whether it was or not it felt like a tribute to the late Martyn though Marc did mention how he was moved to play it by a recent performance of the song by Steve Sinnicks.

    Steve took the spotlight with the next number which was his own entitled "the Reason." It was a good song that he said he wrote for his sister for her wedding.

    To close the set Marc and Steve went with a classic that was well suited to be performed at the Sky Dragon Centre, Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock." Without introducing the song it began with an acoustic Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young intro, that sounded more like an acoustic intro to the Byrds "Eight Miles High," once the words came the song became clear to all.

    I do not know Louise Kent material, though I was impressed by her song "Hero Girl." She was a way more positive version of Ani Difranco. She performed solo and was also backed by her brother Fraser on keyboards who is another former member of What the Thunder Said. They also covered John Lennon's "Imagine," Stars "Calendar Girl," Cindy Lauper's "Time after Time," and "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" the Cheers theme song where there was a sing-a-long.

    It was a great night and I hope to see something like it again sooner rather than later.

    Agreed. Luckily for me I will be hitting up the Columbus, Ohio gig en route back from bonnaroo with Danielle and rayray.

    I have been lucky enough to see Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood play together twice already, I went to the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 in Chicago, IL and I was at their first gig at Madison Square Gardens in 2008.

    I have to say that to see Clapton perform with his old Blind Faith mate Winwood could be my favorite lineup I have seen with Clapton, better than when I saw him with Cream or Derek Trucks.

    After their historic three-nights at Madison Square Garden, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood announced today an exclusive 14-city U.S. tour beginning June 10, 2009.

    After a stunning collaboration at the Chicago Crossroads Guitar Festival in July of 2007 and much speculation, Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton announced three eagerly anticipated concerts at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Those shows featured the artists performing together in a varied set list with Blind Faith classics and solo hits from each artist. Critics acclaimed the shows as historic and some of the best Clapton Winwood work ever. The tour promises more of the same collaborative musicianship that made these men legendary award-winning artists.

    Both Winwood and Clapton have long and prestigious musical careers with countless honors and awards to their names. Their musical paths connected in 1969 with the formation of Blind Faith, a group that pioneered the fusion of rock and blues into tremendous studio and stage success. Despite critical and popular acclaim, the band was short-lived with only one album and a brief 1969 tour that debuted July 12 at Madison Square Garden and ended August 24th in Hawaii. Since that final show, Winwood and Clapton have remained friends, but have only performed together a few times over the years for an occasional song at a charity event. The 2008 Madison Square Garden shows were the first full Winwood-Clapton concerts in 40 years.

    Steve Winwood is currently signed to Columbia Records and released an album of new music, NINE LIVES in 2008. Eric Clapton’s compilation album Complete Clapton was released in 2008 on Reprise Records. The duo’s captivating performance at the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago can be seen as part of a 2-disc DVD available now from Rhino Entertainment.

  15. Who is getting Bonnaroo tix today?

    I have been to all but one bonnaroo and I only missed 2006 because of a family tragedy. For your bang for your dollar I believe you can not beat bonnaroo as long as you are willing to spend 12-18 hours in its entirety in centeroo.

    I already got my tickets from the Christmas presale at the lowest price level. So goodluck to all in getting your tickets today at the second price level.

  16. Springsteen & E-Street Band - 2009 TOUR!

    I was going for a pair of GA floor while the girlfriend was supposed to be going for a pair best available.

    I was unable to get GA floor, and the girlfriend instead of going for a pair mistakenly went for five tickets.

    So we ended up for the Boss with SEC 306 ROW 3 SEAT 7-11 at the top ticket price.

    I have a couple of friends that need to get back to me on a pair of those if not I'll let you know Kev. If you're interested?
