  1. Even though I won't eat it, the guys in the band love this place called "Georgies" and they always get the gravy pizza...which is essentially a slice of pizza SOAKED in gravy. Any other Ottawans a fan of this stuff?

  2. Jack Pearson almost stole the show tonight...Derek's evolution as a guitarist is astonishing...Chuck Leavell played electric piano for the entire show...I never imagined in my life-time that I'd actually hear Chuck play his famous solo in Jessica

My thoughts exactly. First off, in terms of moe.'s set - that was an insane Recreational Chemistry. Wow.

We managed to sneak down to the low 200's (from 400's) so the sound wasn't AS muddy...but i've never liked the sound in the Molson Amph anyway.

Even though I was totally FLORED by the playing of Pearson, Leavell, and T-Sax (i apologize, i don't remember his name ala hangover) - I just want to point out that it took three players to replace Warren. Yep.

Great show, i'm glad i was able to experience it.

  3. these things are always tough...

    Carter Beauford - Drums

    Chic Corea - Keys

    Giovanni Hidalgo - Percussion

    'trane - T.Sax

Ibrahim Ferrer + Pavarotti - vox

    Al Dimeola - guitar

    Bela - Banjo

Dave Holland or the bass player from The Innocent Criminals (his name escapes me at this moment)

there are many many more i would add, but for now this is a pretty solid band me thinks.

  4. I think they'd be a good match for eithe Vanderpark or BNB.)

Funny you should say. They started up at about the same time as us when we were in Montreal and we played so many of our first shows together. I'm friends with Mike (the lead guitar player whose tone you were speaking of) and I know Micah, the percussionist, as well. They're really nice guys - glad you enjoyed their Dekcuf show, I was wondering how it went.

  5. He's amazing.

Defenitly world-class. He's both classical and jazz player, and has made huge strides in bringing the saxophone into the classical genre. He's a multi-reedsman, thus not restricted just to the sop or alto.

I saw him perform a few times, and I participated in a master class with him a few years ago. He's defenitly worth it, but will probably cost a pretty penny.

    hope that helps
