  1. Bump! Rock tomorrow night! I'm gonna be on Ric Taylor's show on CFMU tonight (93.3 FM or http://cfmu.mcmaster.ca online) around 7pm talking about the band and the show. Hope some people make it out, we've been rehearsing plenty and things is sounding gooooood.
  2. Hey, I appreciate all the responses. Still no keys though. Turns out the parking lot was plowed in between the time I was at the shop last night and this morning when I called them. If I dropped the keys in the lot after locking up, they're probably gone. And I don't see where else they could be, the house and car have been thoroughly scoured. The hoody was a good suggestion...but I've checked there. Anyway, everybody at the shop was pretty cool about it, telling me not to worry, even the boss (though he did indicate that I'd still be on the hook for the costs). Well, what can you do, except drink heavily, really? There's a wicked kegger in the Hammer tonight...too bad I'm in Toronto rehearsing, and have to work again tomorrow. WHY LORD?
  3. Is it ever NOT an option? Seriously, though, I've given up now and I'm headed into work. Thanks for the support, Skankeroos.
  4. You make a fine point, Mike. Unfortunately I've also lost the keys to my time-travelling phone booth. Wouldn't you know it.
  5. I appreciate the vibes, everybody. Still no keys. Looks like I'm on the hook for new truck keys, a new padlock for the back of the truck, and whatever it cost them to figure out a new delivery this morning. There go the wages I earned last night working overtime! At least I'm not fired though.
  6. Nah, I've called the shop and they're not in the truck. I'm thinking they're in the f-in snow somewhere. Which is a bummer.
  7. So last night I made a pick up for work in a rental truck. Keys to the shop were on the rental truck keyring, so after I dropped the gear off I locked up and went home. Truck was supposed to go back out this morning, but I figured rather than leave the keys at work and take the shop key so I could lock up, I'd keep them together (so as not to lose them) and just make sure I was right on time this morning so the truck could leave again. So of course this morning I can't find the goddamn keys. I've torn apart my car and my house. Disappeared into thin air. Called the shop; they've taken care of the delivery they had to make, so that fire is out. But still, no keys. Oh, and rental truck parked at the loading dock where we receive deliveries all day. I can't stand to look around any longer, so I turned to the internet. Sanctuary, please make me feel better with your "I have screwed up on this level and still kept my job" stories. And...go.
  8. Too short?? Is there something you're not telling me, Deeps?
  9. Steven, I meant to tell you the last time I saw you, your shampoo has a very pleasing aroma, and I just LOVE your new shoes, dahling.
  10. No worries man, I was only half serious. I'm playing at Pepper Jack's next Saturday though, it'll have to be another time. Unless we just do the jam after my set.
  11. Got drums over there Brian? An amp for me if I bring a guitar?
  12. I am painfully, painfully sober at the moment, having passed up the chance to see a show tonight in favour of barely getting some laundry done. I would desperately LIKE to be drunk and partying, though, Laurie!
  13. I can forsee it being difficult to line up the audio with the video, but if you manage to nail it, it should be entertaining. moe. are very good at what they do. Good luck.
  14. That's right Hammertown, come check out my new band at Pepper Jack's next weekend. Cover shall not exceed $5, I hereby declare, and we'll be playing a long time. Listen to some music at http://www.myspace.com/theachieversachieve
  15. Hey thanks Greg, just grabbing the third bootleg series. Gonna have some new music this week. Cheers.
  16. Dude Click the new links. The old ones are no good, so I just deleted them to avoid confusion.
  17. Two years later, I have to bump this thread up. Don't think I could add anything to what I said then, but how about updated links for those tunes? 01 I'm Looking For Someone To Love 02 Not Fade Away 03 Rave On 04 Think It Over 05 Early In The Morning 06 It's So Easy 07 Love's Made A Fool Of You
  18. I had a friend with a nasty OxyContin habit. He's not my friend anymore. Call me unsympathetic, but I can't deal with drug addicts and their idiocy.
  19. Has anybody here ever heard of this band? They were from Boston, played from 1993 until 2005 and did seven records. Guitarist/vocalist Geoff Farina was the driving force. Allmusic is calling them a 'post-rock' trio; their first couple records had some hardcore influence, but Farina is a trained jazz guy and by the time the later records came along they were really more of a jazzed-up songwriter/rock outfit. One of the guys at work is really into them and now I'm hooked, I'm about to order a couple of their discs (I've heard it all at work over the past couple months and it's incredible). Was just curious if anybody else was familiar. Allmusic entry Karate MySpace page - go listen to these tunes! A live tune called Airport from Geoff Farina's website A link where you can hear a ton of Karate
  20. I just wanted to express my joy at seeing this thread resurrected.
  21. Dude Are we talking both Sly AND Robbie here? "Chill out, chill out, chill out, New York"? I'd hit it!
  22. Just thought I'd send the shout-out as this gig is approaching and I didn't see a thread about it. I was at the Cameron the last two times the Spades rolled through (Nov and Dec) and they were rocking each time. Simply put, one of my absolute favourite Ontario bands, and one that deserves ten times the credit they're getting. The quality of songwriting is unparalleled, and they have such a huge catalogue! Not to mention the musicianship. An unstoppable trio. If you haven't seen this band yet, do yourself a favour. They're playing two sets on Wednesday night.
