hmmm, so now that it looks like the Dems have taken the Senate too, you think they will try to impeach Bush? i mean, taking a nation to war under false pretenses is a little more worthy of impeachment than lieing about a hummer.

hey, this Jerry Garcia fella is pretty good. he in a band or something?
-
I really think his show is more suited for the theatre style settings.
or, maybe the Phoenix? now, THAT was a Dylan show!

family photo is 10/10 on the funny scale. priceless! thanks!

Maybe if a certain keyboardist from a certain band would get in touch with me I'd have 2 friends...
I didnt know Ray Manzarek lived in Simcoe.

I personally do find Rumsfeld's demise extreme cause for celebration...

My old place was all hardwood so this was never an issue because I mopped the floor every other day.
what the hell does your dog get into/up to that you have to mop every other day?

Anyone have any advice on how to get that nasty hound smell out of my house.
move?
try steam cleaning, or pick up a carpet disinfectant at PetValu, that may help. but once the allergens are in the carpet, i don't think you have any choice but to remove it altogether, if you have health concerns. thats what we did. masking the scent wont have any effect on the allergens in the carpet. reducing the humidity in the house can also help lessen the smell.
and ask your vet for a good shampoo for your dog. they make fancy herbal shampoos now. our dog has been sprayed by skunks a couple of times, so I can relate to stinky dog problems. ugh.
good luck. nothing worse than stinky dog smell, as much as ya love them.

this is great news indeed, but in a few state measures they restricted abortion, banned gay marriage, banned stem cell research, and rejected alternative energy research.
stupid people shouldnt be allowed to vote.

love him or hate him, one thing I dont think we can argue about is that Dylan is not afraid to put great openers out on the stage. he told me that last night, when we had dinner together.

anyone else gonna be in frisco this new years?
very tempting now. have been out a couple of times for SCI NYE in SF and its always a lot of fun. in fact, I dont think I ever had a bad time with SCI. will miss these guys, but all good things must eventually come to an end, I guess.

"I think we are all loaded enough not to worry about where the next million or two is coming from," the 55-year-old singer (Phil Collins) said Tuesday.
but, of course the tix will be Elton-priced. "HEY Cash Cow! Come here! I want to grab you!!"
i dont think Sir Phil can relate to the common folk anymore. Im saving my pennies for Cher in Vegas. She's real.

i remember when a bag of chips was 15cents and a Grape Lola could be had for a dime. but, back then we had to walk barefoot, on shards of glass, in the dead of winter, 5 miles uphill (both ways) to school. ah, good memories.

And for something a little healthier, try using Yves veggie pepperoni.
I like Yves too. Good stuff. But I have never understood why veggie food manufacturers intentionally make their products to look/seem like meat. Is it to get kids to eat them?

I love this!
What other performer can provoke such strong disagreement about their performance? I really cannot disagree with most of what ya'll have reported, I'm just interpreting it quite differently. This is a very typical post-show Dylan discussion. Cheers!
ps, fwiw, he did nod at Denny at least four times during the show.

The fact he didn't play the album versions means he arranged them earlier. He didn't move and he didn't ennunciate - they would have had to wheel him out sleeping in a cot for him to give a weaker effort.
Dylan does not "move", which, in itself, doesnt mean a "weak effort" in my mind. And, yeah, he's not exactly known for his diction, again, not a "weak effort". When I said weak vocals earlier, I meant he doesnt belt it out, which I kinda assumed people would know is a given - but yes, it's also something that a lot of people are very quick to jump on, especially those who have not seen him too many times.
Im quite certain that anyone in the first few rows who could see the man clearly would agree that this was hardly a "weak effort". He was lucid, attentive to his bandmates, and as energetic as Dylan ever gets. But no, this aint no Cher show with dancing girls and big videos.
-
There's no denying Dylan gives an extremly weak effort.
wow. you serious? I disagree. there was nothing weak about his effort. he didnt play the album versions, no doubt, but that doesnt make his performance "weak" in any way.

I actually really enjoyed the show...I too had good seats...3rd row directly in front of Bob...
i think where one was sitting made a big difference - generally does at most shows. we were also in the 3rd row center on the floor. being able to see Bob's up close like that was great.
here's the Globe and Mail review of the show.
he's right - Bob switched up most arrangements, making some chestnuts unrecognizable. but, im of the opinion that I pay to see the guy perform how HE wants not, not how I want him to, so that was super duper with me. this is one of those shows that will become better as you listen to it again later.
