  1. I have an audio book from written by a lady who was kicked out of the church. 7 out of 10 as far as stories go. Pretty crazy stuff all in all.
  2. No, Thanks any ways. I'd be in trouble if I got one any ways. (Sour Grapes ha ha) I download way to much TV now anyways. I never watched any of the new shows on TV (past ten years). I have been downloading Breaking Bad, OZ, Sopranoes, American Horror Stories, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, etc. etc. My cheapest and healthiest addiction to date. And who knows maybe someday I will get around to watching them. Cheers
  3. I am not sure how this reflects on the cite but they let me in a few months back. Pretty easy to get your ratio to a respectable number. As far as books and related stuff its a pretty good resource. PSST I would love tv invite.
  4. I'll give you two burgers tomorrow for one...
  5. Thanks for the clsrification on the rude thing. it does not take much for me to 'feel bad'. I have been waiting for bouche to move this thread. I apologize in advance, I am waiting for someone to kick my 'soap box' from out under me (ha ha). 'The Affordable Healthcare Law' is not. My feelings is that he just wanted universal coverage (which is fine). In order to sell it he had to go the way of 'AHL'. However like everything else watch out for 'the law of unintended consequences'. Coverage now takes care of the preventative stuff but when you show and are actually sick... you are going to have to pay for it. I would have loved to seen vouchers, allowing me to shop for coverage much like I do for auto insurance. Your 'duplication of administration' is right on the mark. I feel the government hohever is much more guilty of this than the private sector. Thanks a lot for 'playing along'. It is helpful for me to hear from the other side of the fence every now and again.
  6. I certaiainly did not mean or intend to be offensive or rude. I really get (too) worked up when talking about the government. I work hard to avoid talking about politics, believe it or not. For every dollar the federal government collects they only have twenty five cents to spend. Basically 75 cents go to 'adminstrative' costs. On the state level the value of that dollar goes up to 50 cents. I do not know if that clears it up. On that last point, we can also agree. Cheers
  7. I figure 'bouche' is getting soft in letting this thread go. BMW I respect your thoughts a lot but I am find myself a bit 'put off' by them. *gov't intervention (via income redistribution, for example) can also be used to reduce inequalities. reducing inequalities ends up making everybody as a whole better off. you can find much written on the subject, including empirical research. For every dollar the federal government gets in taxes it is only able to give 25 cents (on that $) to whatever. Do the math. This being only one of the major problems with 'income redistribution'. People need support but government assistance is not the answer. We are spend thrifts in the USA. Please hold off on the 'social justice' thing until we get that part of our house in order.
  8. BWM You are a good read. Not that I agree with you. I have heard the deficit spending thing before but I am not buying it. I could not disagree with you more about SS. I am not sure where our government is going to 'find' the money to pay it back. I give Obama an A for effort in getting the 'Affordable Health Care'law passed but like most things the government does a D for the result. Left or Right the less the government gets involved in the better. By their nature the left believes in more government. No Thanks
  9. Funny enough beyond politics, I bet we would all agree on more than we disagree... Obamas answer for debt ridden Europe- Growth aka tax and spending. Nobody can waste a dollar better than the government.
  10. Both parties are bad, which is worse (). The US government owes the American tax payer seven trillion (or so) dollars. Borrowing from Social Security to pay for... I would rather have crooked conservative than a righteous liberal running the show.
  11. Great cite, very cool people, political thought from people at cite () I knew I should'nt hve read this thread. I disliked GWB (son) a whole lot, Obama is even worse. #1 problem: You can tax the 1% all you want it is not going to do a single thing to help with our debt. The 1% thing is a polical strategy used to get votes that has only deeply divided our country. Shame on him.
  12. First A Big Hello to all of you. Second I needed and some info on trackers for Audio Books (after the recent passing of D...) and figured Jambands. was as good as any place to find info. I came upon a cite last night called the audio book tracker and was a little to unsure to proceed. Anybody here of it? I found another cite that looked ok called 'anonamouse' which I will try and join. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am a teacher and am about to start my 8 hours plus a week in the car and a ggod source of quality audio books is greatly needed. Again a big hello.
