  1. Cheers & thanks Brad. Glad I could assist in your day. :)

The only other DWD on archive right now is 1997-01-01 & I am currently re-working on it since the mp3s are a bit blown out (to me anyway), the Montreal recording is much better. Its funny because we used to get it semi often in Hamilton at La Luna's but I really haven't come across those recordings yet, but I'm sure I will... ;)

  2. speaking of crappy presents, i never did receive my skank gift exchange gift!

Welcome to the club. Personally, I wouldn't really care except for the fact that Dancin' Bear took time to put all this together and in my opinion its sorta an insult to him for people not to follow through. I request whatever was to be sent to me, be sent to DB instead, for putting it all together.

  3. Huge thanks to Jahdawg for getting these Montreal shows to me.

I should have the 99 Montreal show up soon, anyway, here's the first of the two.

    Enjoy.

  4. The line between living organisms and machines has just become a whole lot blurrier. European researchers have developed "neuro-chips" in which living brain cells and silicon circuits are coupled together

The achievement could one day enable the creation of sophisticated neural prostheses to treat neurological disorders or the development of organic computers that crunch numbers using living neurons.

To create the neuro-chip, researchers squeezed more than 16,000 electronic transistors and hundreds of capacitors onto a silicon chip just 1 millimeter square in size.

They used special proteins found in the brain to glue brain cells, called neurons, onto the chip. However, the proteins acted as more than just a simple adhesive.

  5. Cheers & thanks. Much more on the way.

It appears I've discovered the issue with [color:red]1996-10-12. It looks like I forgot to dither the 24 bit transfer (side B or d1t07,d2t01,d2t02,d2t03,d2t04) to 16 bit before I uploaded, so I'm going be re-transfering the show & replace the one currently on archive now. If all works out the corrected show will be available within the next day or so.

Although, for anyone who may have downloaded the show ( [color:red]1996-10-12 ), all will work fine if you convert the FLACs to WAV (16 bit), but as it stands the MP3s & Oggs will not work until the show is replaced.

  6. For anyone keeping score at home, heres the next Fat Cats show now up a archive.

I'm still working with archive to figure out what happened to the 1996-10-12 show, sadly its looking like I'll have to re-upload that one.

  7. Buck Owens, the flashy "rhinestone cowboy" who shaped the sound of country music with hits like "Act Naturally," and helped introduce the genre to mainstream America on the long-running TV show "Hee Haw," has died. He was 76.

Owens died early Saturday at his home in Bakersfield, said family spokesman Jim Shaw. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Owens underwent throat cancer surgery in 1993 and was hospitalized with pneumonia in January 1997.

  8. Anyone else know of these guys? I was passed along their disc from a friend at an undisclosed radio station and its pretty damn good stuff. Pretty much all [color:blue]bluegrass covers of great songs from The Beatles, Cat Stevens & The Zombies just to name a few.

I went to check their website to find some mp3s but it seems to be down right now, or at least doesn't work for me. In searching though I ame across this at amazon...

    Toadsuck Symphony

If the above link brings you to a stand still or nothing, you'll have to register (make up an email/login/name etc, no confirmation required) and you can download three of their great covers for free, and they are complete tracks.

If the above doesn't work, try this one.
