  1. The party at my place is officially on.

I've been trying to figure out what sort of a PA system I should rent from Long and McQuade. I'm leaning toward a Bose shown here https://www.long-mcquade.com/18019/Pro_Audio_Recording/PA_Cabinets/Bose_Professional_Products/L1S_Single_B2_with_Tonematch.htm

Anybody have any experience with this thing being hooked to a projector or perhaps any other suggestions? I just want it to A. Sound Great, B. Loud C. Easy.  I'm not a sound man so the less knobs and wires the better.

Since my laptop is kinda shoddy, I was hoping to use my new ipad with a lightening to hdmi device on the projector. Is this a good idea?

I'm also thinking I should get a range booster for my wifi since this is being setup outside so we  can dance by the bonfire. My wifi does work outside pretty well but I want no fuck-ups where my guests start booing me.

Let me know if you want to come :)

  2. Not sure if anyone is aware of this but WSP streams all of their shows for free on mixlr. There's an iPhone app for it, my guess is android has one too. They send notifications about 20 minutes before they hit the stage.

They're live from Wanee right now.

    Enjoy

  3. I just finished watching the first two season of Homeland, great show. They only have two season though so I downloaded season 3 in order to keep going with it.

I have been a subscriber on Hulu Plus for a while (using unblock-us). It's a great cable replacement, you get almost everything you can watch on cable (and then some) just a day later.

Some of the shows I've been watching on that are:

    Vikings

    Life Below Zero

    Ultimate Survival Alaska

    The Wrong Man(s)

    Live Free or Die

There's a new one that just started I plan on trying out called "The Last Man on Earth"

  4. I've never really thought of Crosby as a guitar player, considering the other two guitar genius' in his band. I would be interested in listening to examples of some of his  better guitar work. Who knows, I probably have already heard some of it but just attributed it to Young or Stills.

You can argue if you like, I have fairly thick skin :) I'm certainly not some kind of staunch Phish defender. They are not my favorite band in the world. I like them for stints at a time. Sometimes I can't get enough other times I just can't handle it. It's why I listen to bluegrass so much, it rarely, if ever, pisses me off. Phish has a tendency to piss me off sometimes. I do think Trey is one of the best guitar players alive today and has one of the best sounding guitars that there is. He's in a class of modern rock guitarists that only includes a few names. Two of which were playing in the same band until this year :)

I have to say, Derek Trucks is the effing man. I could listen to that guy play all day any day but that's beside the point.

  5. Point taken Esau :) The man is one of the vocal greats in rock. there never has been nor ever will be vocal harmonies better than what CSNY did. He doesn't have the type of guitar chops that Trey has though and that was what I was getting at.

I don't know why he feels he should be slamming other artists though. That job is for critics, not a fellow artist. He is David Crosby though, I guess he has earned the right to do or say whatever the eff he wants.

  6. Phish tour is cancelled and they have decided to break up, Trey joins the Dead permanently. then the Dead will play a small tour before Phil retires at which time Mike Gordon takes over. Gordon and Chimenti get in a fight so Paige takes over. Fishman is given a job as the drum tech and they tour like this for about 5 years. Then phish will reunite and the Dead finally gives up. You heard it here first.

  7. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/clt/4908654637.html    Jerry Garcia Finger - $5000 (Speedway)

I am selling Jerry Garcia's severed finger to raise money for the upcoming GD 50th Anniversary show in Chicago. It pains me to part with this one of a kind collectable, but I believe Jerry would want me to see the last show. Finger is preserved in brine solution and sealed in air tight bottle for long term storage.

    Peace & Love

    Matt
