The Allman Brothers Band will perform with Steve Winwood at Darien Center, NY’s Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on August 23. Ticketmaster.com quietly announced the show yesterday, shortly after the site confirmed an August 28 Allman Brothers Band/Steve Winwood show at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The veteran acts—both of whom have roots in the jam-scene but have also achieved widespread commercial success—are expected to announce a joint tour in the coming days. Steve Winwood performed at Hunter, NY’s Mountain Jam last summer. During the festival, Warren Haynes joined Winwood during his set. The shared the stage for a spirited version of “Gimme Some Lovin’.â€

Furthur have confirmed their summer and fall plans. The Grateful Dead offshoot will tour the East Coast in July and focus on the West Coast this spring. The group’s July dates put them in the New York City-area the same week as Phish which can potentially lead to some interesting collaborations. As previously reported, Furthur will kick off a nine-show run at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre this evening.
