Jeff Healey Undergoes Cancer Surgery by Paul Cashmere - January 17 2007 Canadian blues guitarist Jeff Healey is recovering in a Toronto hospital after surgery to remove cancerous tissue from his lungs. The Canadian Press reports doctors as confirming the operation was a success. This is Healey's third cancer operation in the last 18 months. He also went under the knife to remove two sarcomas in his left leg. As a child, he had retinoblastoma, a rare cancer that left him blind.
