this was hip show number 8 or 9 for me, and i was absolutely blown away.
Constantines opened up and were right proper loud, noisy and fuckin good.
I've seen various Downie performances from many different periods of the band, but I think he's top of his game now. Stunning show.
-
i scored a pair of freebies to see them in ottawa feb 2 with the constantines (!) opening ... i've seen a lot of hip shows, but i'm always excited
-
I happened to get my hands on an advance copy of the first four hours ... and, in typical 24 fashion, it's fuckin incredible.
I nearly injured just watching it.

At least one Walmart store in Ontario buys their electricity from Bullfrog Power (http://www.bullfrogpower.com/)
If people generally start thinking about 'green' and 'organic' ... even in a flawed system, getting the right mindset will only bring us furthur away from crap, which will someday, hopefully be good.

that second set is one of my all time phavourites ... good shit!
-
It's not a bad album ... her cover of Morning Dew is pretty fuckin amazing, and there's lots of other good ones on there too. I don't like it quite as much as her last album, but she can do little wrong in my opinion.
Go see her live!

i'm in the same boat photogeek ... my daughter kinda likes it but keeps her distance. I think my folks like it more than she does
-
i wouldn't even consider than an archival collection, seeing as it was from the most recent tour at the time ...
-
i had a little one, one day I was tossing my man-bag (aka murse, if you will) over my shoulder and I accidently caught it ... a couple of days later the damn thing came right off. My neck is still intact.

word up to rock crew
Pelt are a shit hot Kingston band .. and most of you know how damn good PD is ... this one is worth a trip! (I don't get paid to say good stuff about Rock Crew shows anymore ... so I really really mean it this time!)
-
my friend Erick Turnbull (www.myspace.com/erickturnbull) is on a few of these dates too ...
-
same show in Kingston at Elixir on Thursday, November 2!
-
Wifey and I are gonna be in Toronto this weekend for Jenny Lewis & The Watson at Trinity St. Paul's, and then Lily Allen the following night at Lee's.
Anyone else gonna be at these shows?
-
Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins 'Rabbit Fur Coat' is my first choice ... Lily Allen's Allright Still is coming up close behind, as is The Golden Dogs 'Big I Little Eye' with honourable mention to Gnarls Barkley, Johnny Cash, Radiodread, Dixie Chicks, and The Dears.
But I'm really not feeling the new Beck album ... I loved Guero, a lot, but The Information is kinda dry to me ... maybe I just need more time with it.
-
it's not listed on their site or their myspace ... any idea if there's more Canadian shows?
Would've fuckin LOVED to book them in Kingston ...
who's the promoter contact for this?
What a great goddamn band ...
