The Ancient Mayan calendar speaks of 21 December 2012 as the end of times and the beginning of a new cycle of evolution for planet earth, humanity and the cosmos. This prophecy has been hyped through media and Hollywood as an apocalyptic end of the world scenario. However, the Mayan elders say that the ancients were informing the modern world to be ready for a giant transformation for the human race.

"...according to the Mayan calender the 21st of December marks the end of non-time and the beginning of time. it is the end of the Macha & the beginning of Pacha. It is the end of selfishness & the beginning of brotherhood. It is the end of individualism & the beginning of collectivism... the end of haterd & the beginning of love. The end of lies & the beginning of truth. It is the end of sadness & the beginning of joy. It is the end of division & the beginning of unity...."

President Evo Morales of Bolivia in a speech to the U.N. sept 26th, 2012

Co-founding the seminal improvisational rock band, Phish, in 1983, the limits to Trey's creativity seem to have no boundaries. In addition to concerts with Phish, Trey did several festivals with his horn-driven Dectet, toured as a part of Dave Matthews and Friends and conducted a self-composed orchestral set in front of 90,000 fans at Bonnaroo. Trey's current focus is on merging his past accomplishments with his present goals, showcasing more of his multi-faceted musical expertise.

  3. My wife is from Belleville and we got married there last summer at Alberts College. There's a side of Belleville that is really picturesque - beautiful historic homes and downtown buildings.

Downtown area is a little bleak, cute businesses, but some some empty or failing businesses... the Mega Quinte Mall and surrounding box stores and plazas have really hurt the downtown core, but has all the necessities and then some.. There is a revitalization going on, a restaurant opening and further development of waterfront areas.

My favorite spot the "Bohemian Penquin" shut down a couple years ago and was a spot for folk/rock music and inexpensive food.

The County as it's known is only a short drive from down and it's an exciting area full of wineries, bed n breakfasts and cute cottage industries. Sandbanks Provincial Park also in that area.

There are definitely worse places you could be than Belleville, i'd put Sudbury, Sarnia, Windsor, Cornwall as worse places.

    Artist: Superhuman Happiness

Song: "See Me On My Way"

    Album: Hands

"'See Me on My Way' is a song about the liberating feeling of moving on while accepting the fears and doubts that surround such an action," Superhuman Happiness' Stuart Bogie tells Rolling Stone. "You hear what your friends say, what your teachers say, what your family says, what your heart says... when these things don't line up, you need real momentum to break through that invisible barrier and onto the dance floor. The music is your ride to the party."

The Ah men Ra of Universal Hip Hop Culture

    www.zulunation.com

Named by LIFE Magazine as one of the MOST IMPORTANT Americans of the 20th Century, Afrika Bambaataa is a Musical visionary, DJ extraordinaire, living legend and founder of the Zulu Nation. Bam, as he's affectionately known, has done more for the culture and music of hip-hop, funk and electro than most could dream of. In fact, he's even the person responsible for coining the term "Hip Hop" in reference to the movement.

The man behind Hip Hop/Electro Funk classic 'Planet Rock' over the years has co-produced and performed with the likes of James Brown, George Clinton, Fortknox Five, Leftfield, Uberzone and Tribe Called Quest among many others.

Bam's futuristic soundscapes became a major influence in the development of not only hip-hop, but have been instrumental in laying the foundation for Breaks, Electro, Freestyle, Techno and House music as well. “Planet Rock†has become arguably the most sampled song in music history, having been remixed and sampled by the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Westbam, George Acosta, LL Cool J and countless others. Bam's track “Renegades of Funk†was also famously covered by Rage Against The Machine.

Still extremely active, Bam continues to record, tour and educate, maintaining his status as a living legend and forefather of the art. In 2006, Bam was honored for his incredible achievements by VH1 at the annual 'Hip Hip Honors' show. In 2007, he was nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2012 Bam accepted an appointment at Cornell University where he will speak to classes, meet with students, community groups and perform the music he helped create and expand.

  8. Almost everyone who voted for Ford felt tricked that fiscal responsibility was his platform - he wasn't all that known at the time - and his competition was really bad - Toronto wasn't ready for a Gay Mayor. Now Ford is seen as riding the same gravy train he vowed to repeal. He's done.

THE HOUSE OF DAVID GANG is a Toronto-based reggae collective that delivers late 70s and early 80s style Jamaican reggae classics . Formed in Toronto over 15 years ago, the band is fronted by seasoned reggae veteran King Selah and whose members have included members of Resinators, Irie Band, Explorer Band, Revelation, Selassie I Power and many others. The House of David Gang got it's name from a House that a group of like minded Toronto Reggae Musicians lived in and who held after-hour reggae parties for several years which developed the musicians into some of Toronto's Top session players. For the past 15 years King Selah and the House of David Gang have hosted the Toronto Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer Tributes which have helped bring light to Toronto's burgeoning roots rock reggae scene
