  1. So sad.

Olivia Chow, his wife, is the councillor in my area/ I use to see them biking around Kensington Market. I hope the best for her and their kids.

Very sad day for Canadian Politics... in addition this really hurts our current political situation with the Conservative majority.

  2. I'm looking for a new phone provider. What I really want an Iphone 4 without a contract any ideas?

I'm with Fido and they won't let me use $400 my FIDO dollars toward a new Iphone without locking in for 3 years on a data plan, even though I'm still under a contract till April 2012. Complicated part is that I'm moving in the new year to the US, so I need a phone that will work on a US plan starting in January.

    any help would be sweet.

    http://counteract-magazine.com/2011/08/16/black-sabbath-to-reform-for-tour-and-new-album-with-original-lineup/

The news that every Brummie metalhead has been longing for – Birmingham’s very own Black Sabbath are set to reform!

Black Sabbath formed in 1969 in Aston, Birmingham and are still to this day one of the world’s biggest heavy metal bands. With the original lineup that features Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, Sabbath will record a new studio album and head out on tour next year.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Tony Iommi had this to say:

‘‘We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’ve been writing is really good,’’ said 63-year-old Iommi. ‘‘It’s more back to the old original stuff.’’

He added that the reunion has been kept under wraps for some time.

‘‘It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back. He’s doing a lot of TV and he’s being asked stuff about a reunion and he’s going ‘well I never say never’.

‘‘He told me, ‘I don’t know what to say’.â€

  6. yup tix also at the door... Love to have your help pumping the show on BlogTo...

    did you guys see this:

    http://www.glidemagazine.com/hiddentrack/surprise-me-mr-davis-everything-must-go/

On August 23, HT faves Surprise Me Mr. Davis will hopefully kick off a Canadian Tour following a set at the Liberate Music Festival in Sheldon, Vermont on the 20th. Why hopefully? The band’s front man, Nathan Moore, has been denied entry to the Great White North in the past due to an unfortunate encounter he had with cops in California six years ago.

The pacifistic singer/songwriter and the tour’s promoters have lobbied the Canadian government and are hopeful a kindly border guard will let Moore in for the four-show run. Let’s keep our fingers crossed as we watch SMMD tackle Everything Must Go at High Sierra ’08…
