    RIP Big John (1964-2011)

    Reggae Musician Big John passed away this past week in Nelson, BC. He found out recently that he was in the 4th stages of Cancer and passed earlier this week. The music community in Nelson, BC has been pretty sad about John's passing and we're putting together a compilation album of his life's work. He was the original drummer for acts such as Selassie I Power, House of David Gang and Gisto's (of Wassabi Collective) Solo album.

    At this point we're tracking down the musicians and songs he was a part of, if you have any insights please help.

  4. Zach Deputy in Toronto - Wed. Aug. 3rd

    I thought it would be a weak night in Ottawa, and told Zach that. He stayed over on Wednesday night with his crew and he told me that he was pretty sure there was a buzz.

    Hope to see him coming back again soon... probably not to Ottawa, I can't see that working - did you see all the gear they were traveling with? They were pulling a full PA + concert lighting rig + Zach's equipment in a large trailer, pulled by a Mercedes 15 passenger van. I doubt they can afford to play for peanuts very often.
