  1. Thanks SF. Yeh, naturally the KW & Hamilton dates couldn't have been the ones that were back-to-back, that would make our lives too damn easy! :P

Tonight should be fun, the beer and BBQ fests are always good. Sometimes the brewmasters will actually come out themselves, at the one in Toronto last year I had a nice chat with Michael Hancock from Denison's about bringing their Weissbier back and how it was going. The BBQ is always excellent too, there are usually crews from all over Ontario as well as a few from the States.

Hey, so based on that I charted the growth in usage:

    6.5 1989
    12.2 2002
    17.9 2015
    23.6 2028
    29.3 2041
    35 2054
    40.7 2067
    46.4 2080
    52.1 2093
    57.8 2106
    63.5 2119
    69.2 2132
    74.9 2145
    80.6 2158
    86.3 2171
    92 2184
    97.7 2197

So by about 2200, everyone in Canada will be smoking.

(Fun things to do with Excel when you're bored.)

    Peace,

    Mr. M.

  4. Hey folks. As many of you know my good friend, the extraordinarily talented Matt Osborne passed away a few months ago. Various shows and other activities to honour Matt's memory have been happening since, and here are two more that I wanted to let you know about.

Tonight (Friday July 16th) the Raintree Cafe in Waterloo (220 King St. N.) is honouring the gig Matt had booked there. After some thought it was decided that this would be a good night for a viewing party to show Matt's last recorded live performance. It was recorded at the end of February 2004 in the Victoria Park Pavilion. There will be other TV footage and various recordings played as well.

In addition, tickets for the upcoming "MATT OSBORNE TORONTO TRIBUTE CONCERT" taking place on Aug 6th at The Silver Dollar Room in Toronto are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting http://www.musicface.com/matt/torontotickets.html or by emailing tickets@musicface.com

    DATE: August 6, 2004

TIME: Performances start at 8:00pm (Doors open at 6:30pm)

COST: $10 - All proceeds will be donated to the "The Matt Osborne Musicians Trust Fund".
