  1. All i know is that the 90s in Ottawa were made WAY better by 4 Way Street gigs. They were SOOO much fun. You couldnt get that experience going to see CSN in a stadium. Believe me, i've tried. :)

My only point on Tribute bands is recently my 11 year old neice who LOVES Queen got to go see that Queen tribute band the other week. I think it was an awesome experience for her.

  2. My great uncle helped design the Canadian flag if that counts - he's in some books, not others.

If you live in Orleans there is a Beddoe Lane named after them - but thats probably more because their property was there.

my grandfather toured with the queen - that's not really famous, just interesting. He was the treasurer and they called him "moneybags"

  3. Myers to play Keith Moon in biopic

    By JAM! Movies

Mike Myers is set to star as Keith Moon in an as-yet-untitled film about the renowned drummer of The Who, Variety reports.

The Canadian actor had shown interest in playing Moon a few years ago, but was too busy tackling the roles of four characters in "Austin Powers in Goldmember."

The Who singer Roger Daltrey is producing the movie, which he has been working on and off for almost 10 years.

The film is now being fast tracked, and the next step is selecting a director.

Back in 2002, Britain's Sun tabloid quoted Daltrey as saying Myers would be perfect to play the lead in a biopic on the life of Moon, who died in 1978 in what was at the time described as an accidental overdose.

"Mike is a genius," Daltry reportedly told the tabloid.

"I can really see him as Keith. He's amazing when you meet him, so clever."

During his short life (he was 32 when he died), Moon became famous for his chaotic drumming style, bizarre sense of humour and penchant for destroying hotel rooms.

Myers last appeared on screen in 2003's "The Cat in the Hat."

  4. If you're worried that they wont find a home, try the rescue sites - depending on location of their volunteers they'd pick them up and find them homes. They kinda work like an underground railroad - volunteers will meet other volunteers half way to transport dogs.

My sister got a daschund/jackrussell cross from Tennesee that way a couple of years back.

ANd these kiddies could go to either beagle or cockerspaniel rescue orgs.

  5. i can understand heaven, but to really love a woman??

if you like those duran duran songs, you have to suddenly blast "wild boys" out of your speakers at work. Doug does that every once in a while here and it's hillarious!.

oh am i suppose to be embarrassed about show tunes? I love musicals.

I was going to say my guilty pleasure band is Cheap Trick. I love Cheap Trick, they are so happy.

  6. well - i think i'd give her a much bigger break than that... location and age difference alone is enough to make you a totally different person - and pulling the old records would be a label decision and i know that probably wouldnt be the battles i'd be picking as a new artist.

I dont mind her. I would hope that she can come up with some decent stuff now, but if she can't well no biggie, she had a good run. Everybody can't be awesome all the time.

Not that i'm in the fan club - but i have a thing about expecting artists to be able to produce the same caliber of art indefinitely. I don't think it's possible and i think it's unfair to expect it.

  7. No, you're right, ACDC songs should make you want to change.

Morning has Broken - i dont knwo why - Cat Stevens is one of my favourites of all time, but i cringe when that song comes on.
