I always wanted just to have a big roast picnic. Sorry for the vegetarians out there. But like a big quarter cow on a spit over a fire like they do at church picnics.

I figured that would be inexpensive and fun.

But mom wanted us to do it at Strathmere which was lovely i have to admit. Not in the $25,000 range but maybe $10000 all together with everything put in. Which is a car really.

Fun time, beautiful location... would i do it again? prolly not. but it was nice.

but i have this movie on cd and it was on the movie network so i have watched it all twice and parts of it several times while surfing.

It really is a good movie. I particularly like the scene when he knocks on the window and asks jim carrey if he can help him then how that all flips back again at the end.

I also like the scene when kirstin dunst is jumping around on the bed in her underwear with her boyfriend while jim carrey is still on it undergoing the procedure. Dont know why but i do like that scene.

that was definitely f'ed up with Rafe there? and is that a real name? he must have fallen off that ladder 31 times - there is no way the other team would have caught up if not for him. And the editors totally ignored any questioning of it after. I find that odd.

Well the fact is that it spiked huge after Katrina and there is a bigger hurricane on the way - so in my books it seems a pretty safe bet they're going to gouge people as much as they can after.

My ring is honkin big but we were pretty loaded at that time - he got a used harley as an engagement present... we so poor now though...

However, i do like my ring a lot and i'm not really one for jewelry. It might mean a lot to a future generation like "oh that was great grandmother heather's ring"

However, a home and financial stability will mean a lot to the kids too eh?

My husband did get my input but after we chose, i didnt know he told the jeweler to take out the centre stone and put in a more perfect, little bit bigger one. That was a romantic surprise when he asked.

If you do go diamond, clarity is a little more important than size in my books.

The Penny saver might definitely be a way to go - people are just getting what they can. But i wouldnt buy without getting a jeweler to look at it.

Brad M is right though. I have a friend that wants a big Pearl engagement ring. No reason to go on the crazy diamond markup.

Finally, if you do go with a real jeweler, and you are in Ottawa? I would like to recommend the one we went to. He is the youngest Thompson brother - My husband worked with his mom. His brothers and fathers have big stores in Ottawa, but he has a little kiosk under an escalator in St. Laurent Shopping Centre.

He was VERY nice and totally went the extra mile for us. And still any time we go back he takes care of the cleaning and checking for us personally. (Maintenance i believe is free for everyone) But he is a very nice guy.

I watch Gilmore Girls too. I actually didnt realize i watched so much tv. It's usually only between 9 and 11 every night but apparently i track a hell of a lot of shows.

The house band was insane! i think thats pretty typical of studio musicians though isnt it? WAY more talented and educated than the garage bands who make it big.

I thought the song selection might be stacked except that they did chose a song that went well with marty's voice.

JD was all over giving attention to the band while they were playing - his best talent is sucking ass for sure. But i think he really was the only one who would be able to handle this gig for more than 6 months if it goes that long. The rest of the singers would end up stabbing someone stuck in a bus singing songs that suck as bad as the new one that they sang last night.

I dunno - Im thinking more and more that JD is a lazy taker. Heard that he was living out of his car panhandling when he decided to audition. Couple that with his "i dont need to do any homework" attitude - i wouldnt choose him to rely on.

I dont know about Marty - the only time he really got on my tit was when he sided with Jordan so heavily against JD during song writing. I just dont get the creep factor the rest of you do. Beyond the regular it's a "reality show" and they're all not themselves.

I did see something really funny last night though. ET Canada i think brought Tara to a spa in toronto on last nights episode (i guess all the formers are going to be at the finale tonight)

and she said a couple of funny things. One was something like "you have to have a tough skin to do that show. I mean you have Dave Navarro up there telling you he doesn't like your performance, that really takes a tough skin"

heh heh. I also noticed that non of them ever liked him enough to just start calling him Dave - it's always "Dave Navarro" -- i think they hate him.

i like it when they blow people up.

Hurley just wasnt in the picture - i saw a picture and said - yep, yep - yep that's a good story and posted it. Hurleys curse is good. i think mainly its just the doctor and the girl who get irritating. Well that's not true, i'm not so big on the romances either.

There is definitely a lot going on though.

I hear they are introducing more characters this season too - more passengers.

I wouldnt start watchign on episode 3 though - i think you really need to start with the pilot

I really liked the pilot - like a lot - specially when dude got sucked into the engine

but as i tried to watch the series i did find it hard to stay on the channel. The last couple were pretty good too though - specially when the condescending dude got blown to bits - that was very cool

It definitely has its moments and it has a lot of boring too - i will check out a few of this seasons episodes to see if it's any better.
