  1. damn. i dont care nearly enough about any of the people left to make a case for keeping them. I woulda pled for bowie yesterday though. To be perfectly honest i think being on that island with these people would be the most irritating experience - gawd even for accents alone.

  2. "we're the bigger people so we invited them to our wedding even though they didnt invite us to theirs"

I'm betting the romber wedding sponsored by cbs in the bahamas is in a slightly different league haha - they're soooo jealous.

  3. I would like to go to this the last line is cute

OTTAWA - On Wednesday June 1st, 2005, The New HOT 89.9 FM, in Ottawa,Canada will become the first station in the world to broadcast live - a wedding for a gay couple.

In an exciting announcement just after 8 a.m. EST, The New Hot 89.9 Morning HOT Tub with Mauler, Rush, Laura & Josie revealed that Lynn and Alex, the gay couple from this season's #1 reality show - The Amazing Race 7 ,will be flying to Ottawa for a June wedding ceremony.

Lynn, 30 and Alex, 22 from West Hollywood, California have been together for four years. Executive Assistants by trade, they signed on to The Amazing Race 7 as a means to test the strength and longevity of their relationship.

"From speaking with them it became obvious that their experience on The Amazing Race really solidified their commitment to each other, and their desire to get married," says Mauler, host of The New HOT 89.9 morning show. "Since current laws do not allow the union of gay couples in California, we are ecstatic that they have agreed to come to Ottawa to share with us this once in a lifetime experience."

The happy couple is set to arrive in Ottawa, Monday May 30th. Over the course of that week, Lynn and Alex will be treated to a bachelor party, their wedding rehearsal and tour around Canada's beautiful capital city. The live on-air wedding ceremony will be held at the Ottawa Congress Centre Wednesday June 1, and will be followed by a reception at Suite 34 that evening.

Newcap Radio's HOT 89.9 FM, known for their ground breaking and unique promotions, contests and events is set to conquer Ottawa once again. This will be the first 'live to air' gay wedding in the history of radio.

This wedding will blow everyone away," says Rob Mise, Operations Manager,HOT 89.9. FM. "Although this event will be one of the most challenging to put together in such a short time, we're pulling out all the stops to make this a wedding Lynn and Alex, their family, friends, and our listeners will never forget."

In a news conference in New York City today, Lynn and Alex will be announcing their 'Amazing Wedding' to the U.S. media.

'Race' duo has star-filled guest list

By TARA MERRIN -- Calgary Sun

The guest list for Lynn Warren and Alex Ali's big, fat, gay wedding in Ottawa next month is simply amazing.

Ali confirmed yesterday that all the teams from this season's show will be invited to the Amazing Racers' Canadian wedding.

That includes $1-million winners Uchenna and Joyce Agu and recently wed Survivors Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich.

"We are the bigger people, so we invited them to our wedding even though they didn't invite us to theirs. We don't really expect them to show," says Ali.

Those who have already confirmed their attendance are the Agus, mother and son Susan and Patrick Vaughn and Meredith and Gretchen Smith.

Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan and actor Rosie O'Donnell are also expected to be on hand for the big day.

"Rosie is taking us on a cruise with her and her family for our honeymoon," adds Ali.

Warren, 30, and Ali, 23, are being flown to Ottawa by radio station HOT 89.9 FM, which is organizing the June 1 ceremony.

Ali says he and Warren agreed to be wed in the Great White North because they are not legally allowed to be married in their home state of California.

"Some people will be against it no matter where we get married, but the bottom line is we don't care what other people think," he says, adding his own father, who didn't know he was gay before The Amazing Race aired, is having trouble accepting the union.

"We want to encourage other gay couples to take their futures into their own hands, but we are not getting married to be gay-right activists or for the press. We are getting married for the gifts and we are registered at Macy's."

  4. hey that's cool. I saw the 'get bands back together show' put them back together last season - i actually dont think they all went for it then - i think its wicked that they have gone with it now.

  5. Y'know, looking over their pictures again, there actually are more of Kahlens that i like than any of the other girls... i guess her personality was throwing me - i still think she needs to live more though - so i still think naima should probably get it in the end. Problem is the Covergirl contract - they want bubbly girls - dont know if any of these left qualify for that...

  6. With Idol, i just like the singing and the songs. Just makes me really happy when I know there's something hard coming up and they nail it. And then I sing them "better" during the commercial after they're done. heh heh ego me?

Though i have a hell uva time watching Canadian idol - its just too bad to stomache...

Just be happy i havent started an America's Next Top model thread ;)

  7. hey ms hux, if it makes you feel better, i knew the afternoon of that they probably won - before the race was aired there was one of those online betting shut downs cuz of an excessive amount of bets being placed on uchenna and joyce - i wasnt sure but i was pretty sure they were going to win. I was glad i'd only heard it that afternoon and not earlier in the season.

I tell you what, i woulda liked to see if that driver would have been paid if rob and amber's cab drove into sight... :D

I dont think its that fair to judge how people play survivor (i.e. coat tails vs leader etc.) Its such a messed up game what works for one person will absolutely not work for another - its a game where you just gotta do what's working for you...

  8. No way - uchenna and joyce would kick last season's couples butts - if you remember she didnt do one roadblock - that's why they changed the rules. Each person must do 6 now.

Also, yes, its all fine and good that rob and amber won survivor money but in the greater scheme of things after taxes, i wouldnt begrudge them another million if they could get it too. I mean we dont know any of the other racer's money situations - gretchen might be loaded back home...

I think the other racers would give anythign to be able to win a reality show and then go on to win another - i thought they were hypocrites when they went off with their "survive that" comments. :)

ah well - maybe thier wedding will be terrible cheese and i'll regret having continued to like them during the race.

  9. ya i agree on the cbs string pulling. Romber lost when they couldnt find the cigar shop - what the hell are cuban cigars doing in the us anyway?

I am quite satisfied with Uchenna and Joyce winning that really was a fairy tale ending episode for sure.

I still would have been ok with romber winning - i think they were the two best racers i've ever seen on the show (at least after the first few episodes) I'm not sick of them yet - they are extremely competant. Including Amber - I don't think she was useless. She did her share of tasks most of which she did really well. She just doesn't make a big deal out of things. Including jumping off a 30 foot bridge without hesitation. I mean i cant blame her for being exhausted after, I dont think she eats.

But all in all I never quite understood why the other racers hated them soooo much. Other than maybe rob must say a lot of nasty stuff to intimidate them. Which also worked.

I dont think anyone wanted ron and kelly to win.

  10. I would like someone to give me a free bike - i need the exercise. :) really.

I remember puddles. i use to freak out on poor bouche telling him how i was positive puddles was a narc. He went to one of the nero shows at babylon i think in a cast - odd odd guy.

  11. we bought a 130 + year old house that had wallpaper everywhere. taking it down was fine at first' date=' but by the third room it was no longer a healthy stress release [/quote']

We are in the same boat!!!We have done a few rooms and its not that bad, when there is only one or two layers!!!Are computer room is a different story, the people who lived in the house before us thought it would be a good idea to paint over the wallpaper!! }:( It is going to be the last room in the house we do!!!I don't even what to think about the mess that will be.

2 x 2 studs and thin drywall may be your best bet. our hallway is covered in thick evil vinyl wallpaper...we'd love to take it down but as the walls beneath are very obviously cracked we've left it up. after talking to a plasterer, i painted over it with an oil based sealing primer with the eventual plan of doing a stucco sort of rough plaster over it. aahhh, the joys of an old house...

Yep, walls with 10 layers of wallpaper, half peeled in different spots and painted over. Nothing to do with that but start over. We didnt use the 2x2s, we put the drywall up over the plaster - however I wont do this again because it brings the wall out so far that I had to take out the original baseboards most of which splintered.

So from now on i'm taking the plaster down. lots of crappy old dust and stuff comes out when you do that too which i think makes the house healthier and on outside walls, it will give me an opportunity to insulate. And change any old wiring. Messy, but the right thing to do i think.

Now for the kitchen where there is only one layer of paper that i need to take down - what is this "fabric softener" method of yours beats?
