  1. unfortunately this will be a metal free summer for me. If I had the choice though I'd be at HEAVY TO.. better lineup for me (Megadeth, Anthrax, Motorhead, The Sword on Saturday and Slayer, Mastodon, Testament and Anvil on the Sunday.. sweet!)

With the exception of The Sword, all of the others were at Heavy MTL I and II. Plus, Im in Toronto, so Montreal is extra fun for me.

This will be the first summer in forever that I haven't seen Slayer somewhere in the summer. Stuck on 19, waiting for my 20th.

And, finally to finish my rationale for Montreal....

    MORBID ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Heavy MTL is next weekend, July 23-4 at Parc Jean Drapeau.

See anyone there? Ollie, CosmicChrisC, thatpatguy?

Motorhead, Anthrax, Morbid Angel, Annihalator, and, ugh, Kiss ought to make for a fun day.

I am only going Sunday. Ollie and Christine had the right idea last year, skip the sh!t day.

  3. I'm glad they are back, if only to help out Ben Shepherd's empty bank account (he was broke) and to put to rest Audioslave and Cornell's solo career. I hope they put out a new album, but I hear this isn't part of their immediate plans.

This is a very clever post, right on all accounts.

Ben Shepherd really did look pissed off all show. Almost seemed like he was the epitome of what people say when slagging off reunion tours/shows, that "they're only in it for the money". Given his recent financial issues, it's excusable, but the others were all having a blast, while Ben looked someone pissed in his coffee.

Plus, Cornell doesn't sound like a whiny little bitch anymore. Hated his solo stuff, didnt even try Audioslave.

Wish I wuz going tonight, have fun Ottawa.

  4. For those who notate a setlist properly (ie most of us Jambands folks) one should state that they took the stage to Mudhoney's "Here Comes the Sickness" playing in the background.

Those 2 you mentioned were not played, but a couple differences from Toronto to London, so cross fingers.

  5. Fantastic show, utterly pummelling.

Jesus Christ Pose def the highlight, nothing missing that I woulda wanted to hear, and a mindblowing 3 song encore.

Cool visuals too, that eyeball is still kinda freaking me out. (You'll see).

Man, I wanna go tomorrow too.

  6. So,the Leafs get Liles, and for little apparent reason, my roommate has turned overnight into Komisarek's biggest fan.

No, I dunno what one has to do with the other either. When i told him "Pepole in MTL still laugh at Toronto still laugh at us for signing him" he responded with "Well, he started the all-star game for them."

They ALL started the allstar game that year, dumbass. 100th anniversary, and fans mega-voted them all in. He's still one of the worst defensemen I've seen since the days of Benning, Boimstruck, and McGill.

Dunno what the point of that was. Glad we got Liles, don't understand my roommate, we still need centres.

  7. Should be a cracker of a match.

And, on Sportsnet as well, not Setanta.

If anyone's in Toronto, Scallywagss at Yonge and St Clair is have a big party today for the game. Last years party had giveaways of jerseys, longboards, and plenty of other cool stuff.

Party at 2, kickoff at 2:45.

    To all, a great day.

  8. My store, one of the large Toronto Indigo shops, has a few books by local authors, so I would figure most should at least have some facet of individuality. Whether they choose to do anything about it, though....who knows.

Heck, I'll mention it to the person who deals with consignment sales at ours. Who knows, right?

    :chug:

  9. The book has now been published and I have a question. Do local Chapters outlets have the option of stocking what they want or does everything go through head office? POG? Anyone?

You'd be best to speak to the location closest to you, to see if they'd take some on consignment. Tough to get into Chapters as a whole chain, but might try yer local one.

Also, you might give a ring to the World's Biggest Bookstore, downtown Toronto, as they are the closest, within the chain, to thinking for themselves, and really can order what they want.

    Good luck with it all,

    Dave
