Sounds about right, getting quite used to crap refereeing at all levels.
If you haven't read it, and hate what seems to be obvious refereeing cheating over the last 8-10 years, check out Declan Hill's brilliant "The Fix". You'll never watch the game the same way again.
-
Oh, and solidarity is easier now that fvcking Drug-Cheat is gone.
I have no problems accepting the fat blue-nosed bastard as the captain.
"Cheer up Stevie G,
oh, what can it mean
to a fat, blue-nosed bastard on a
crap football team."
-
Well, fvck the Filth.
They're good at what they do, and might have the best reserve squad in England, but Arsene refuses to entertain the idea of using English players (Theo excepted, of course).
The Filth is useless to England, and they know it, but they're a magnificent club. If I wasn't full-on CFC, I'd probably really enjoy what the Filth have to offer.
And ManUre, and Spurs, and all them taboot.
Thank god for the CFC!
Well, that was a nice, semi-inebriated rant, now off to TFC vs Kansas City.
As a world cup note, apparently Arjen Robben limped off in a 6-1 victory in a friendly vs Hungary today.
6 more sleeps, 7 till England.

5 Spurs > 4 Chavs.
Delicious! :chug:
Nice one. I've got no problems with Spurs, certainly the better of the North London clubs. Mind you, being better than the Filth is kind of like being nicer than Hitler, but still, Spurs = pretty cool.

according to bbc.co.uk
DrugCheat Ferdinand will miss the next 6 weeks with ligament damage.
His place on defence will be taken by Spurs' Michael Dawson, and England's new captain is The One Steven Gerard.
:chug:
Here's to you, Stevie G. Now that's what I call a captain.

I was down a couple of weeks ago, great pints at the Jeckyl and Hyde, just south of Soho.
Fantastic Italian at Sambuca's on West 72nd or 74th, can't remember which, very nice.
-
Found it Sloth.
I think you should probably click the link Slippery.
..... and really' date=' that was much more of a back breaker than an arm breaker. I remember it well but not fondly.[/quote']
Can always count on TheSloth to tell me what's what. Thanks bud.

Don't need to see Didi broken, but that is one hell of an avatar, MattyC.
Lovin' it!

Just heard back from them.
Doors at 8, show at 9 sharp.
$10 cover, another $10 for a DVD of the show.
BYOB, smoking area out back so BYOTreats.
Thinking I gotta be there.
-
Aw, Didi!
Too bad. He woulda been fun to watch this summer.
May ease the pressure within the Group of death though.

Most athletes?
He skipped a drug test' date=' was found guilty of doing so, and was suspended for 8 months, hurting club and country. Most athletes dont skip drug tests.[/quote']
Semantics. Most pro athletes use performance enhancing drugs is what I meant. "Most" is probably pushing it, but enough do, IMO, that I don't really hold it against the players that get caught.
If you're gonna bash Rio, do it on the DUI.
I see yer point, but I think I'll stick to bashing him on missing half a season and Euro 2004 for skipping a drug test.

Most athletes?
He skipped a drug test, was found guilty of doing so, and was suspended for 8 months, hurting club and country. Most athletes dont skip drug tests.
I'll say, honestly, that I know nothing of JT's 9/11 comments, and will look em up now.
My feeling for DrugCheat came when he was named captain, before that I just thought of him as United.
-
Oh, Drug Cheat, No!!
Rio Ferdinand was taken to hospital for a scan on his knee, after picking up a knock in training.
Hoping to see this updated as the day moves on. I may not want him as captain, but he's a useful cat to have around.
8 more sleeps, 9 till England.

Happy birthday Greg.
all the best.

Hey hey hey Calamity was a nickname that was used back when he was playing too many video games in his spare time and it affected his concentration on the pitch
Alllllll that's behind him now.
I can hear you laughing as you typed that.
:content:
It's pretty obvious what results you'll get by youtubing David James, s'all I'm saying.
9 more sleeps, 10 till England.

And now, away from talking of the EPL and which gaffer's going where, and back to the World Cup.
England has released its squad numbers. While numbers do not guarantee starting positions, it's usually a good barometer barring injuries.
1. David James
2. Glen Johnson
3. Ashley Cole
4. Steven Gerard
5. Drug Cheat
6. John Terry
7. Aaron Lennon
8. SuperFrank
9. Peter Crouch
10. Wayne Rooney
11. Joe Cole
12. Robert Green
13. Steven Warnock
14. Gareth Barry
15. Matthew Upson
16. James Milner
17. Shaun Wright-Phillips
18. Jamie Carragher
19. Jermaine Defoe
20. Ledley King
21. Emile Heskey
22. Michael Carrick
23. Joe Hart
Couple wee questions here and there, but all in all no problems, except for the fact that this list makes me think that Calamity James is #1!!!
If so, clearly England has learned nothing at all about football, and will fall out early yet again. DJ's all right, and gives his all, but let's face it, if yer a keeper and yer nicknames Calamity James, thas pretty telling innit?
-
All the best, Junior, you kicked a lot of ass, legitimately.
:chug:
-
Any of the 3 would be great for you.
I've always been partial to Martin O'Neill myself.
-
I heard the umpire's interview on the radio this morning and I have to say he handled himself as best as I can imagine. If nothing else Galarraga will always be on that list with an asterisk beside his name.

Yep, thought Joyce spoke very well. He screwed up, he knows it, but baseball seems to thrive on existing on the possibility of human error. Much like soccer, it is what it is.

New York Times correction, 2010/05/10
Because of an editing error, the On Soccer column on Thursday, about England’s mixed view of the game in the United States, referred incorrectly in some copies to John Harkes, one of the first Americans to play professional soccer in England, and to one of the teams for which he played. He arrived in England in 1990 to play for Sheffield Wednesday; he did not arrive “in England to play at Sheffield on Wednesday.â€
Hahaha!
! That's awesome.
Avram Grant hired on at West Ham. Dunno if that's really a step up from Pompey.
Oh, and Rafa? Everyone saw it coming, yet few expected it.

Agreed, with one exception.
He's totally worth 40 mill to me, cuz to me, he is CFC.
Otherwise, a value of 15mill makes you look quite wise, good sir.
-
Oh, and now it seems Joe Cole will be a free transfer.
Guess it was 40million in January.
Zoiks!
-
I heard it's a straight swap- Bennynoon for Cole
And Im hearing Benayoun to City for Santa Cruz.
Ah, the rumour mill.
Apparently, Cole's off to the goddamned Filth, and Gerard to Real Madrid.
There are also talks to have me join Ipswitch Town, though, so we'll see what happens.

aw, the cool-looking 2 cents emoticon didn't work.
Now it just looks silly at the bottom of my post.

Have a great time, to all who go.
None for me this summer, too much going on, but holding out hope for a good, convenient fall tour, and a venue I've not been to before.
