On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, the Craig Pedersen Quartet (live recordings of which can be heard here) will be playing at Club SAW. This show is a release party for their new CD, "Days Like Today," and also includes a short solo guitar set by Lucas Haneman. The doors open at 7:30pm, and the music starts at 8:00pm*. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, or $7 for students. An extensive interview with Craig about him, his music, and the record (including how Craig's "donation/support" program for the record worked out) can be found at Ottawa Jazz Scene. On Sunday, December 4, 2011, The Dusty Owl Reading Series presents its annual "Chocolate House" bash at The Elmdale House Tavern. This is a fund- and goods-raiser for the Ottawa Food Bank, and features the music of Ottawa bluegrass/country/folk band The Dusty Drifters. It runs from 3pm - 6pm.
