Check 1-2
I can vouch for that. Only I used Club Soda and the Shaker was made of Glass..... and to think the bastards at the Pottery Barn wouldn't take it back as defective!

Tooly
i dont get it...... does the tonic water blow up the container? like ammonia and vinegar or something?
Hux
......because of the carbonation of the tonic water, the martini shaker creates a veritable jihad of pressure, when shaken....
Phunky Cauldron
quote: jihad of pressure A religious war of pressure....weird
Check 1-2
If the shaker is made of glass.... a piece of glass breaks off (provided you are holding the lid on tight) and goes flying off at a hell of a speed with liquid behind it. I guess that explains why I've never seen Sparkle-tinis on Martini menus.
CharlieDon'tSurf
this thread has done nothing except encourage me to give this a whirl... ever try exploding a plastic Smirnoff 60 oz (not quite a jihad of pressure...maybe an inquisition of conflagration)
Check 1-2
Let me know how it goes! I think you'll need the lid tight enough to stay on, yet maybe loose enough to allow some air in?? Maybe the ice helps too.... I almost failed 1st year physics so I really don't know. The only problem is its a waste of perfectly good booze......... arcane
This isn't a whole lot different from the lesson you learned when you were five years old, when your buddy shook up a can of Coke and opened it in your face.
