Chewie
INDEX: Entertainment, Music TORONTO -- The Rolling Stones might surprise their Toronto fans tonight with a surprise club date. Sources tell the Toronto Star the Stones will stage an unscheduled show at Palais Royale (Lake Shore Blvd. West). A Palais Royale official told the newspaper that the Stones will ``take the stage at 10 p-m.'' The official says only one-thousand seats will would be sold, for five-dollars a piece. Stones' management would not confirm the gig. The group is in Toronto rehearsing for the LICKS tour, which begins September 3rd in Boston. They'll play at the Air Canada Centre on October 16th and the SkyDome two nights later to promote their album ``Forty Licks.'' (TorStar)

NewRider
Does anyone know if this is for sure? I was planning on going to Dylan but if the Stones show is cheaper than I guess I'll go see them!!!
Northern Wish
There is no way in hell you will get tickets for this event. I read on the newswire that people have been lined up since 2:00 am yesterday. The last time "The Glimmer Twins" played one of these 'surprise' shows nearly 5000 people turned out at the Warehouse to secure the less than 1000 ducats. Its too bad, there is probably no better place in TO for raunchy Stones blues than the Palais! Sean
Basher
This is confirmed. See: http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusic/aug16_stones-cp.html Obviously at this point if you do not have a ticket fuggeddaboutit. I was one of the lucky ones to see the Stones at RPM back in 96 - it was a great show.
