MuleMomma
...the funk quartet this time round? The TO jazzfest website says "John Scofield Trio feat. Steve Swallow & Bill Stewart" - does anyone know whether this would be the configuration within which Scofield plays straight-ahead jazz rather than the danceable jazz/funk fusion? Blane
to answer the first bit, yes. I've got tix to see the trio in June here (opening for Herbie Hancock). As for their sound, I'm not certain. If the TO jazzfest is after Montreux date-wise, I'll gladly give you a heads up on what to expect.
Tungsten Gruvsten
Bill Stewart is his drummer from the Pre-MMW album days(Hand Jive, Steady Groovin) and is an amazing drummer. I wish Larry Goldings was back in the band on keys as the Avi Bortnick programmed electronic stuff has run it's course....
bradm
Scofield also has a new live album with Swallow and Stewart coming out mid-May. Aloha, Brad
