AdamH Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 My epiphone Sheraton II, as beautiful as she looks and sounds, has a problem. I think it is action or neck-related but I'm not sure. And I'll take it back to those louts at Lauzon to let them look at it but wondered if I could get some prelim. ideas from you kids. I've noticed that I can't get a clear tone out of certain notes and certain frets...mostly further up the neck. Strange though that going one or two notes higher and I'm getting a clear sound again. A dud note in question is F (13th fret on the high E) whereas F# sounds fine. Or playing a high E (14) on the D string...almost no sound at all, yet the frets above and below seem ok. Any idea what's causing this?
peipunk Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 If you want to call the good folks at Lauzon "louts", your ignorant self won't get as much as a hello from me.
AdamH Posted May 11, 2004 Author Report Posted May 11, 2004 Louts was used because I couldn't think of a derogatory word that rhymes with Lauzon. And it was joke..I love that store like it was my own. So back to the issue at hand.
Pablo Sanchez Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Could be a lot of things. sounds like a high fret to me. bring it in and have our guitar tech look at it. call first. he's in wednesday to saturday 9am-6pm. He can probably get you fixed up on the spot. Things like this happen this time of year. With humidity and tempreture changes instruments go wacky.
