know anything about battery power, electricity?

say you have a couple batteries and the battery tester device you have says they've got around 6V charge. but when you hook em up, the equipment you're trying to run says the batteries are dead. (the equipment requires 12V, so it should be working.)

is there something else about batteries other than the voltage that i should be testing? these are new batteries, so they aren't the problem.

Using 2 6volts to run something that requires 12volts?

You may be loosing slight amounts of voltage by connecting the 2 6's

This may help, but not sure.

darn freeker, i didn't think anyone would figure it out. you're right, though, time to invest in something a little more powerful :: ::

c-towns - you rock - that page had exactly what i was looking for.... if your 12V system is testing at 12.06V your batteries are only holding about 25% of their charge capacity.
