Ridley Bent "BLAM"

I've been hearing this guy on the alberta public radio station ( www.ckua.com you should give it a listne sometime, great variety)

He is from eastern canada but now subsides in BC. He is an excellent song writer and tells a great story in every one of his songs. This is in no way a disc with any real heady jams just great songs.

I dont want to scare anyone away, but his voice kind of sounds like Kid Rock doing his mellower stuff (like I know what that sounds like) and I don't like Kid Rock. His guitar playing is like Jack Johnson.

Give it a try folks, I did and its great.

Oh, and dont buy the new Dave Matthews disc if you know whats good for you.

peace brahs.

I'll be hitting that link (ckua) after the mp3s on Ridley's site.I completely see the Kid Rock reference, lose the scratching & I would give it five stars outta five...four with the scratching..although..that was one track.Does the studio stuff all have that scratchin' in it?

I kept waiting for them pick up the pace in "Fruit Pickers",still dig it though.Sounds like music I would listen to with a few finely rolled numbers & a bottle of rye on a sunny saturday afternoon...

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I like this CD. My take on the overall disc is a combination of Kid Rock/Jack Johnson/Sublime/Eminem

Some catchy tunes that I keep whistlin or hummin'. Great summer disc!

my newb: Be by Common

B0009FGWIK.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

anyone familiar with common will find this disc, well... typical. tightest band in hip hop. executive producer kanye west, with credits to john mayer and marvin gaye on particular tracks. good from start to finish.. kinda has that 'common gets older, makes mellower music' feel to it.

check it out!
