Blane
I have this course outline that was sent to me by a prof in .wpd format. I can't get the MS converter set up because I don't have the office installation disc, and basically it leaves me screwed. Is there anyone who could open it for me and save it in .doc or .txt or whatever other format and send it back??Thanks a ton!Blane
bouche
email it to bouche@jambands.ca and I'll see if I can convert it for you. Can you convert a mac .dv to a windows .avi for me ??

Blane
yikes. Bouche, I don't think we've got anything that complex. If you're stuck for a solution let me know though. My friend is a video editor with all the mac video shit on her comp. She's also got high-speed so she might be able to help ya.
Blane
perfect. thanks a ton mike. just needed the right software, that's all.
bouche
Basically, it's the raw files from my skydive. I thought I could just open them into Microsoft Movie Maker, but I can't.I want to do some fun editing and add some awesome music. I plan on getting a mac, but I don't know when. I'm watching all of the mac news going to Intel processors, so I don't think that it's a good time to get a mac right now since they are going to be making the big switch.I'm going to have the geekiest office in Hull. I gaming PC that can also do development stuff AND a mac mainly for multimedia and clicking on cool looking icons.
Diggzz
.dv is an uncompressed quicktime format, if you are able to import quicktime files into Movie Maker, try just changing the extension from .dv to .mov, might work for ya.
bouche
I'll try that. Thanks for the tip!
Diggzz
No worries, it's what I do on a daily basis with my job, converting, compressing, uploading video...
bouche
success. Avid Free allowed me to drag the raw .dv clips into it.Now, if the interface was a little easier.....I'm going to have to use Movie Maker to do anything interesting after I convert.
