ollie
The dream is over rubberdinghy... I'm listening to the Sens/Pens pre-season game and Van Allen is joining The Team on colour commentary.

rubberdinghy
Awwwww, I knew it was over for the great SVA! One of the greatest skaters Ottawa ever had...if that puck went into the corner, you knew he had a 50/50 chance of getting it.
rubberdinghy
More than a few people were saying "What's Shaun Van Allen doing on the power play?," about the same time Ottawa's savvy veteran was scoring his third goal in three games to tie it up. Van Allen was almost wondering the same thing. "I'm not sure," he said of how it came to be that he was on the ice. "I played a little power play when Radek Bonk got hurt on Long Island ... I was just told to go out there." Asked about his scoring streak, Van Allen shrugged. "I just know that everybody could have scored that goal," he said about the open net he found staring him in the face. One of my proudest moments! rubberdinghy
When journeyman forward Shaun Van Allen was playing for the Edmonton Oilers during the 1992-1993 season, he was hit so hard that he barely staggered back to the bench and sat trying to recover as the trainer held smelling salts under his nose."Is he all right?" coach Ted Green shouted down the length of the bench."He doesn't even know who he is!" the trainer shouted back."Tell him he's Wayne Gretzky."
