Nice use of the memory hole there, George. I mean, six months after 9/11, he was saying he didn't give a rat's ass about bin Laden, after trumpeting all that while about how the most desperately important thing in the world was to catch him.

So who or what is next?

Hmm. Did he fess up, or just finally acknowledge that as occupier of the highest office that the ultimate responsibility for executive decisions (made on faulty intelligence or not) must lay with him?

Both Truman and Clinton had a "The Buck Stops Here" placard on their desks to remind them of this necessity.

Cute line in the story:

One government official involved in the operation said he privately complained to a Congressional official about his doubts about the program's legality. But nothing came of his inquiry. "People just looked the other way because they didn't want to know what was going on," he said.
