BREAKJAZZ

Produced and developed by a limited number of bands over the last several years, Breakjazz is a recently-defined sub-genre of jazz created by combining an acoustic jazz band with one or more DJs and/or Turntablists who add improvised electronic elements to the musical performance (e.g. scratching, samples, loops, vocals from a CD, vinyl record or other electronic source). Check it out on Friday, December 30th as we continue to explore and develop this newly defined sub-genre in jazz.

MUSICIANS WANTED!

We're looking for talented musicians to take part with an improvisational band who will 'jam' with a DJ, in our continuing effort to develop the style of 'breakjazz' - the mix of turntablism and live band performance. Musicians should bring their own instruments. A full backline of drums, bass amp, guitar amp and keyboards will be provided. Drummers please bring your own 'breakables.'

GUEST DJs

DJ ROLAND CASH (SUMKIDZ, HOT PIE RECORDS) www.djrollincash.com
